We're back in business!

Thanks to the hard work of our employees and some amazing friends and family members, we have found a temporary location where we will be treating patients while repairs to our original Oak Harbor clinic are completed.

You can now find us at the old Island Drug building, located at 32170 State Route 20 in Oak Harbor. Open 8AM - 4PM Monday-Friday, beginning this Thursday, September 5th.

We are currently waiting on insurance providers to approve our new location, but wanted to offer the following options to current and past patients:

1. Independent Exercise Program - FREE during the month of September to all former and current patients. If you have a folder full of home exercises, we'd love to see you in our new space! You can come use our machines and equipment, free of charge.

2. Reduced Rate Cash Pay Physical Therapy - For current patients who are waiting on insurance approval, we are offering 30 minute sessions for $50 so you can touch base with your therapist. This will not be billed to insurance.

UPDATE - The experts from Servpro are hard at work helping us clean up the water damage to our building. While we are still unsure of how long repairs will take, we are close to setting up a temporary space to treat patients. We are also doing home-based physical therapy for patients whose insurance will allow it.

Once we set up a location, we will have to get it approved by insurance carriers, which, unfortunately can take longer than we would like - depending on the insurance.

Please rest assured that if your treatment will be impacted, we will be reaching out and contacting you with a plan. Thank you to everyone for your patience.

Hello Whidbey! Unfortunately, our clinic was flooded over the weekend. We have to close this week to begin repairs. We sincerely apologize to our patients who will be impacted by the closure. Our owner, Erick Harada, is working hard behind the scenes so we can begin seeing patients as soon as possible.

Smarter strength for low back pain Allen!

If you find that your back pain is aggravated by a lot of movement (bending over, deadlifts, twisting), the reverse plank is a great way to introduce loading and stability to strengthen your low back stabilizers through a hold.

When doing the reverse plank, stay flat and don't hyperextend through your low back. Pretend you are balancing a ball on your pelvis and don't want it to roll up or down. To make it easier, bring the support under your legs closer to your glutes (the top photo). Putting the support under your feet will make it harder.

Allen, PT, DPT - recommends aiming for 3 sets of 30 seconds to start, and progressing to 5 sets of 45 seconds for best results.
