Something to kick-start my knitting creativity, I crafted these tiny octagonal puff pillows to fulfill a particular role. These tiny pillows are going to live in the tiny space between the toe and the tip of these very lovely shoes. They were an amazing price ($6) and I loved the color, but they're one size too big.

They've been tested out and are not an annoyance yet. Walks and time will decide if that will hold true in the future.

Should you want to make your own toebox cushions, these took less than an hour from start to finish. Instructions can be found on my Ravelry project page at https://ravel.me/Rhyslarn/tc

Say "Hello!" This is Jake the Dog from Adventure Time, he's a very good boy and he's going to be joining Science the Rat from last year's birthday this coming weekend. Eventually, I hope to have Finn, and a few of the princesses from the show worked up. ☺️

She's done! Technically, I wove in the last end three weeks ago, but I finally laid her out for an overshot photo Wednesday night. There's still a final yarn tally to do, a project page to update on Ravelry, and a final wash and block before she'll be available for sale.

For now though? Enjoy the vibrancy of colors! 😁

I was two rounds past this point when I discovered that I missed a stitch. 😭 It was a bobble round and very obvious that it was missing when I was needing to work over it. So I ripped back and am now in the process of correcting my mistake.

As promised, pictures showing how I closed up the junction holes. Pictures 5-7 are performed twice with any remaining tail hidden away down the seam. Next comes the last 9 rounds! 😁

The 18 granny squares are finished, ends woven in, and attached to the main body of the blanket. I intentionally oriented the strips to trap the ending stitch against the main body so that I could use the tail to cinch up the resulting hole at the intersection. Those pictures are to follow, but in the meantime, please enjoy the vibrant colors!

Currently on the hook, granny square expansions for the Sophie's Universe blanket. There are 18 squares, Jack and Lydia, 9 of each. I mixed up my Jack squares, worked rounds 6 & 7 from Lydia so I put Jack's 6 & 7 on Lydia instead. For some reason, it's been an absolute slog trying to weave in the ends until round 6 hits, then I'm fine. 🤷

They're unblocked at the moment, but I'll be sewing them to the main blanket soon! And then? Then the last few rounds until it's done growing and all the little details are able to be added.

I'm not sure what will become the next focus crochet/knit project, but Tour de Fleece is approaching and I've not enough alpaca prepped to make it through the month. So perhaps alpaca prep for home, spindle spinning for knit nights? 🤔

Gloves are completed! They turned out so colorful and fun. A rummage through my button collection revealed these two vintage buttons in a lovely mustard yellow. I used duplicate stitch to secure the metal loop of the buttons to the ribbing, and a slip stitch line across the tip of the conversion mitt to make the button band. I tried to make sure that the button was easy to manipulate one handed, especially with the non-dominant hand.

The pattern is from Purl Soho's free collection on their website. I knit the 70 stitch cast on, stuck to the instructions for the basic stuff and used notes from my outline to determine how long to make the fingers and mitt.

The mitt was essentially an adaptation of a sock toe. Using a Turkish cast on for 16 stitches, increasing to a total of 64 stitches with lifted stitches. At the last bit of mitt I did a 1x1 ribbing to retain stretch on half the stitches and bound off with Jenny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind off on every other stitch for the ribbing stitches. The back half of the mitt's was Kitchener stitched to the main body of the glove.

Gloves have been washed, dried, and delivered to their new owner. ☺️

Today's project: clear this basket of angora so I can empty the bobbin. I'm not sure what I want to do with the yarn when it's done, but it should end up a bit over 200 yards like the last skein. Maybe a weaving project? Maybe a scarf? Who knows, all I know is that whatever it becomes it'll be sooooooo soft. 😍

How beautiful is this yarn colorway?! Do you see the lovely speckles that are trying to converge into a chevron pattern? I'm working on another pair of gloves, this time convertible from mitts to half-finger gloves. Unfortunately I will be ripping these back to the herringbone band because I increased too much, too fast. Upside? I get to knit these fabulous colors again. 😁

Yarn is Opal LaubGeflüster, Farbe 11252, Partie 3354. I love Opal yarns, especially for socks. The 75% wool/25% polyamide gives a durability that can hold up for years, which is very nice as a sock. Self patterning yarns are so awesome! 😁
