Behavioral Learning, PLLC

Behavioral Learning, PLLC Science + Heart. We encourage and support diversity, equity and inclusion within our workplace and the treatment that we provide.

At Behavioral Learning, we are committed to creating a safe and collaborative environment to empower growth and foster individualized behavior change. Our goal is to develop professionally caring relationships with each of our learners where cultural values, religious affiliation, and identity as self-defined are respected and integrated into treatment, as appropriate. Regardless of ability level, all are afforded the freedoms of everyday life and human rights are valued. Our therapeutic framework is based in third-wave behavior analytic support, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). As counselors, social workers, and behavior analysts, we utilize data-based decision making to determine and enhance individualized change. MISSION STATEMENT: We are passionate about learning across the lifespan. Our primary mission is to transform adult services by integrating mental and behavioral health services into high quality, compassionate neuroaffirming care. VISION STATEMENT: To create a world where the stigmas associated with receiving mental and behavioral health services are no more.

Gratitude doesn’t just feel good; it helps relationships grow. When we say “thank you” and mean it, we show people their actions matter, and that positive cycle continues.

💡 Try this: Instead of just saying “thanks,” tell someone what you appreciated (“Thanks for listening, it really helped me feel calmer.”).

🗣️ Tag someone you want to thank and tell them what they did that meant something to you.

Gratitude, like any skill, can be shaped over time. Start small: notice one thing each day that makes life a bit brighter, and reinforce yourself for taking the time to reflect. Over time, this behavior becomes more natural and more frequent.

💡 Behavior Tip: Track your “gratitude moments” for a week. Frequency builds fluency!

🗣️ Comment below with one small thing you’re thankful for today, no matter how simple.

🎃 Spooky Season Reminder 🎃
Ghosts and goblins might be make-believe…
But your mental health is very real.

This Halloween, don’t let stress, anxiety, or loneliness hide behind the mask. It’s okay to not feel okay, even during the fun and festivities.

🧠 Take a deep breath.
💬 Talk to someone you trust.
💜 And remember: we're here if you need support.

👻 Wishing you a safe, calm, and kind Halloween - from all of us at Behavioral Learning.

Reflection for Mental Wellness

As October comes to a close, take a mindful moment to check in with yourself:
✨ What challenges this month tested your mental and emotional strength?
✨ What moments of peace, resilience, or healing can you celebrate?
✨ What supportive habits or boundaries do you want to carry into next month?

Reflecting is not just about growth. It’s a compassionate way to honor your mental health journey and set intentions rooted in self-care and awareness.

We live in a digital world, and while our devices keep us connected, too much screen time can add to stress and overwhelm. 💻➡️🌿

Even small changes like silencing notifications for an hour or stepping outside without your phone can help your mind recharge.

💡 Try it today: Take 15 minutes tech-free and notice how you feel.

Dear Behavioral Learning learners, clients, & families -

We are aware that the rising anti-immigration rhetoric and increased immigration enforcement (ICE) is creating fear and stress for many in our communities and, unfortunately, our BL community is not immune. I am reaching out today, and always, with care and reassurance. At Behavioral Learning, we deeply value every individual and family we serve. Our commitment is to create an environment where all people are treated with respect, dignity, and compassion, regardless of background or circumstance.

Your safety and emotional well-being are our top priorities. We know that news like this can bring fear, uncertainty, and stress, especially for families who may be directly impacted. We are here to support YOU. Although we cannot control what happens outside our doors, our team remains focused on maintaining a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for everyone, be it in-person or online. We stand firmly against any policy or practice that compromises the privacy or humanity of our community.

I want to be clear: Behavioral Learning and the property we operate on are private. That means government agents, including ICE, cannot enter our space without the proper legal documents. If you have any questions, please let me know. There are no silly questions and I'm happy to provide any additional information or clarification.

In alignment with our core values of compassion, collaboration, and belonging, we will continue to protect privacy, uphold trust, and approach every interaction with empathy.

We are more powerful together.

With care and solidarity,
The Behavioral Learning Team 💜🧡

Today, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to recognize the rich heritage, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous communities. We recognize that we here in the Chicagoland area live and work on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe Nations — Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi — among others.

🌍 Every October 10, World Mental Health Day calls us to action—to listen, to care, and to advocate.

At Behavioral Learning, we hold space for all those living through unimaginable hardship—displacement, loss, and the weight of collective grief. In every corner of the world, especially where voices are silenced and suffering is clear, but compassion falls short. Support is a lifeline, not optional.💜

We remain committed to standing in solidarity with those most affected. Dignity denied anywhere affects us all.

💬 What's one way you can use your voice to support policies that improve access to mental health services worldwide?

This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week, a meaningful reminder that mental health deserves the same care and attention as our physical health.

In our work at Behavioral Learning, we’ve seen how powerful it can be when people feel safe to share their stories, seek help, and know they are not judged. Breaking the stigma isn’t about big gestures; it starts with small acts of empathy, listening, and reminding each other that support is always within reach.

No one should have to go through their journey alone. Let’s keep building a community where conversations about mental health are open, honest, and healing. 🌿

As Su***de Prevention Month comes to a close, the conversation doesn’t end here. 💜

This month has been a reminder that mental health matters every day.
It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to not be okay.
And it’s more than okay to reach out, to talk, to listen, to check in.

✨ You are not alone.
✨ Your story matters.
✨ Support is always within reach.

Let’s carry the awareness, compassion, and action we’ve fostered this month into every month that follows.

📱 If you or someone you know is struggling, dial 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24/7.
