Oftentimes when people are in pain their lives are impacted negatively and they feel frustrated with how pain stops them from doing what they want to do. At Palmgren Acupuncture, we provide drug-free options like acupuncture and therapeutic massage to reduce pain and inflammation, and increase mobility. After getting acupuncture, patients are able to be more active, feel happier and get their lives back.

Twelve years!!! 😇 🎉

It’s been quite a dozen years, right?! 😅 But we’re still here 🤗 We couldn’t have done it alone. HUGE thanks to this community, our patients, families, friends, colleagues, teachers, mentors, neighbors! ❤️ You have been been endlessly supportive and loyal. We appreciate you so much.

From humble beginnings as a solo practice to a vibrant 6 member team. And you’ve been there along the way, cheering us on. 🎉 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🙏 🥰

👉HOW DID PALMGREN START?

In 2013, after graduating acupuncture school, Lynn moved to Oak Park (where she only knew 2 people) and started Palmgren Acupuncture in one room with zero income and zero patients 😬 She filled her first office with furniture from her friends and family 🛋️

A year later, her husband Nick (also an acupuncturist) joined the practice as an owner and they built this small business together:

✅ Expanding from 1 treatment room to 5
✅ Growing from 1 acupuncturist to 4 acupuncturists, 1 massage therapist, and a full-time administrative assistant and marketing assistant
✅ Adding therapeutic massage to our services
✅ Expanding from 5 Chinese herbal formulas to over 50
✅ Reinventing our practice during the pandemic and bouncing back
✅ Building a profitable and flourishing practice
✅ Providing +19,000 massages and acupuncture treatments
✅ Recommending 1000s of Chinese herbal formulas
✅ Helping countless people change and transform their lives for the better

Are you (or your high schooler) looking for a Saturday job? This might be just the thing! Palmgren Acupuncture is now hiring part-time administrative assistant for Saturdays only, 8:15 am-2:30 pm. W2 employee. Starts at $18/hour and includes paid time off and employee discount.

We’re a massage and acupuncture practice in downtown OP. Saturdays are a busy day in our practice so you’ve got to be ok with multitasking! What you’ll be doing: checking in/out clients, answering phones, preparing receipts, emailing, accepting payments, scheduling patients. What you won’t be doing: You will NOT be doing anything with insurance.

This is one of my favorite autumnal teas 🍁

It’s kinda amazing:
✅ 3 simple ingredients
✅ They’re all likely in your kitchen right now and ✅ They’re all Chinese herbs 😏

What you’ll need for this RECIPE🫖
4 c water
2-4 cinnamon sticks
6-10 whole cloves
1-2 peels, tangerine or other citrus (fresh or dried)

Add sweetener if you wish and enjoy warm! Cheers!

WHAT ON EARTH DO THESE CHINESE HERBS DO?
🤎 Cinnamon - warming, improves digestion, helps with common cold symptoms
🤎 Tangerine peel - stops cough, regulates digestion
🤎 Cloves - very warming, improves digestion

If you tend to run cold or get easily chilled, this is the perfect tea for you 🥰

GENERAL WARNING if you want to try Chinese herbs please as a personal favor work with a Chinese herbalist who is board certified. Safety first 🦺 And if you’re in the Chicago area and you’re interested in trying herbs, we know a few good ones 😉

She was recently appointed by the secretary of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to serve on the Board of Acupuncture 😮 This Board is as an advisory board to the IDFPR when they need help or insight from acupuncture experts 🤓

This is an amazing opportunity with our acupuncture laws in IL coming up for renewal next year 👍 She will be serving a 4-year term on the Board. Lynn is honored to volunteer on this prestigious board and help the acupuncture community. We’re so proud of her! ❤️

Our Story

Palmgren Acupuncture opened its doors in 2013. Since then, we have proudly called Oak Park home. Owned and operated by husband and wife team, Nick and Lynn Arestopoulos, LAc., we love helping people live healthier, fuller, and longer lives. We specialize in pain management, stress reduction, and weight loss. We’re passionate about encouraging people to try acupuncture and massage to accomplish their health goals.

Our team is fired up about healing the world with Traditional Chinese Medicine and massage. We’re motivated by our mission to prevent unnecessary surgeries and medications so people can achieve optimal health. We’re proud to be the recipient of the 2019 Small Business Superhero Award from the Oak Park - River Forest Chamber of Commerce.

We started as a small clinic with 1 practitioner and 1 treatment room and have grown to 4 amazing practitioners and now 4 treatment rooms. We’re grateful to be a part of this community and offer love and acceptance to everyone we’re able to help.

As we adapt to the world around us, we are offering online/virtual services to help even more people during this epidemic. Our physical clinic is closed temporarily until further notice. We’re devoted to keeping you happy and healthy through it all.
