Free Medical Clinic was recently featured on WATE celebrating the generous donation of 8 new mobile units from Optum and UnitedHealthcare.

Having mobile clinics is essential to FMC’s ability to provide no-cost primary and specialty care to patients across Anderson, Morgan, and Roane counties. Transportation remains a significant barrier for many of the individuals and families we serve. These mobile units allow us to travel directly into rural communities—truly meeting patients where they are and ensuring access to the high-quality care they deserve.

Thank you, Optum and UnitedHealthcare, for recognizing the needs within our community and for trusting FMC to continue delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. Together, we’re expanding access and making a lasting impact.

Getting to the doctor’s office can be difficult, doubly so for low-income and uninsured East Tennesseans. Now, the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge is meeting patients where they are with eight new mobile health units.

ORAU is proud to support the The Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge. FMC provides no-charge primary care services to low-income and uninsured residents living in Anderson, Morgan and Roane Counties. Services include medical treatments, imaging tests, lab work, eye exams, annual physical exams, women’s health, and access to free and discounted medications. Both in-person and telehealth care are available, and services are provided in English and Spanish. FMC regularly hosts events that offer dental care, school and sports physicals for children, and access to other medical care and equipment.
