Resistance training isn’t just about muscle tone & appearance — it’s about functional anatomy, health and longevity.
Here’s what happens inside your body when you train with resistance:

Last week we started some preparations for Puppy Press Handstands. Even though pressing is a more advanced form of handstand entry, it can help build awareness needed to control your body upside down. If that wasn't your favorite entry, have no fear! You can enter handstands countless ways. Whether you’re working at the wall or floating freely, here are a few FlowFit-tested tips to help you progress:

✨ 1. Build the foundation. Strong wrists, shoulders, and core = stability. Planks, dolphin pose, and hollow body holds are your best friends.

✨ 2. Start with alignment. Stack shoulders over wrists, hips over shoulders — even if that means staying low at first.

✨ 3. Use the wall wisely. Practice facing toward the wall to strengthen your line and avoid the “banana back.”

✨ 4. Breathe. The moment you hold your breath, you lose control. Stay steady, calm, and focused.

✨ 5. Don’t rush the process. Every kick-up teaches you something. Every fall is feedback.

Remember: handstands are a journey of awareness, not perfection. Keep showing up, keep playing, and trust that balance will follow. 💪💚

Alex and Ashlee met about 4 years ago and have been collaborating ever since. Combining yoga and strength training is something that we believe is the key to improving your skills and accomplishing any goal mental or physical.

Alex takes her passion for yoga and movement to the next level in every class, keeping it fresh and interesting every time. Her focus is to help you understand how to utilize your muscles for maximum efficiency. She believes if you learn how to truly control your body, there is nothing you can't do. With her yoga classes you will gain flexibility, mobility and strength that you didn't know you were capable of.

Ashlee loves to mix up the format and timing of her workouts so that your body is always guessing, and you never get bored! Her upbeat and flexible approach is open to all levels and encourages people to try to challenge themselves with every move!
