NOT ALL SHOCKWAVES ARE THE SAME

Stemwave uses an electrohydraulic shockwave where an electrical spark creates a plasma bubble that explodes, generating a supersonic acoustic wave (5x the speed of speed of sound). This allows one to treat a larger area at greater depths, and studies show electro hydraulic shockwaves can change “inflammatory cells” to more “repair-focused” cells. Benefits in pain reduction can be felt immediately at times, with 10-30% improvment on the first visit.

An electromagnetic device treats smaller areas but uses magnetic vibrations, which take a longer time to treat the area. These are more like “pressure waves” than actual shockwaves.

A piezoelectric machine incorporates crystals that expand and contract rapidly at a lower level energy, which can be good for addressing scar tissue and skin texture/appearance.

Radial shockwave devices use mechanical pressure waves which cause microtraumas and can take up to 2 weeks before feeling much benefit. Used more for superficial injuries.

When a joint becomes chronically inflamed, it means it is struggling to get out of this cycle of tearing down and building up tissues. Stemwave helps to restart this cycle and through continued use can teach the body to heal properly.
