Attention Oakhurst and surrounding areas!

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until November 14th. Heavy snow of six to 12 inches is possible above 6,000 feet along with a possibility winds could gust as high as 40 MPH.

This could create hazardous roadway conditions, please slow down and allow extra time when driving to destinations. Please use caution when traveling through our mountain communities. Ensure you have adequate equipment and supplies. Always use caution and sound judgment when using a navigation application if unfamiliar with an area, sometimes the fastest route on these applications are not the safest routes.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is actively searching for a missing Selma man. 65 year old Ron Dailey never returned from his hunting trip. He left home on the morning of Monday, October 13th and was supposed to be back home in the evening, but has not been seen or heard from since. He told family he was going to the Shaver Lake / Courtright Reservoir area of Fresno County.

Ron is 5'7", 220 lbs. with brown eyes, brown hair and a beard. He does have underlying medical conditions. He was driving a silver 2002 Dodge Dakota with California license plate 16028S2. Photos attached show the clothing he was last wearing.

If you have any information of the whereabouts of Mr. Dailey, please call the Sheriff's Office at 559-600-3111.

🌧️ Tuesday Tip: Rainy Day Safety & CPR Awareness 🌧️

When storms roll in, so do slick roads, power outages, and unexpected emergencies. Here’s a quick rainy day reminder from Oakhurst CPR:

⚡ Avoid standing water near downed power lines. Electricity travels fast — and far.
🚗 Drive slow and stay alert. Hydroplaning happens quicker than you think.
🫀 If someone is unresponsive outdoors after an electrical incident — check the scene first! Make sure it’s safe before you touch the victim. Once the area is clear, call 911 and begin hands-only CPR if they’re not breathing.

A few smart seconds of safety awareness can protect both you and the person who needs your help. ❤️‍🔥

🚨 LIFE-SAVING TIP 🚨

If someone suddenly collapses and isn’t breathing — don’t wait to check for a pulse. Every second counts.

👉 Call 911 immediately
👉 Start hands-only CPR — push hard and fast in the center of the chest, about 2 inches deep, at a rhythm of 100–120 beats per minute (yep, that’s the beat of “Stayin’ Alive” 🎵).

Even if you’re not sure you’re doing it perfectly — doing something is always better than doing nothing. Those first few minutes before help arrives can literally save a life. ❤️‍🔥

❤️ Sometimes the calmest hands are the ones that save lives. ❤️

When an emergency hits, most people panic — but the ones who’ve trained, they move. They remember. They act.

Here’s a quick tip:
🫀 If you ever see someone collapse and they’re not breathing — call 911, then start hands-only CPR.
💪 Push hard and fast in the center of the chest — about 100–120 beats per minute (think of the rhythm of “Stayin’ Alive” 🕺).

It might feel simple, but those few minutes of action could keep someone’s brain and heart alive until help arrives. 🚑
