We are very excited to introduce Asia Parker!
PhD in Political Science and International Affairs, Reiki Master, RYT 200 hour
Asia’s yoga journey began in a fitness gym, where she first stepped onto the mat seeking strength and flexibility to support her workouts for track and field during high school. What started as a way to complement physical training soon deepened into a practice of balance and focus that carried her beyond the gym. She began to find a mindfulness practice that translated off the mat in her personal life to help manage stress. After completing her bachelor’s degree she wanted to continue being a student and decided to do so thru a yoga teacher training program.
Practicing yoga has opened Asia up to many different experiences and opportunities for developing deep and meaningful friendships. It was through these new bonds that she was introduced to Muay Thai and later Jiu Jitsu—disciplines that, much like yoga, require presence, resilience, and connection between body and mind.
Yoga has remained the constant thread throughout, helping her recover, stay grounded, and approach both martial arts and daily life with awareness and calm.
Her yoga classes often embody creative sequencing and lean towards aspects of playfulness and non-linear movement. She believes in the importance of slowing down and taking a breath, finding yoga and community as wonderful ways to support that practice.
We at hōm are excited to be offering some new classes throughout the week which will be guided by Asia! Check the schedule for updates and come join us!
