Flower Seed Bombs! 🪻🌸🌼🌻

Today at the Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness and Recovery Center, we got our hands a little messy in the best way 🌱

Our group created biodegradable wildflower seed bombs using native seeds, with plans to use them in appropriate, approved spaces to help support pollinators and add a little natural beauty to our community. This activity is all about creativity, teamwork, and connecting with nature in a meaningful (and fun!) way.

"Leave it to God" Jars ✝️💚

Today in Creative Therapy, Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness and Recovery Center service users made “Leave It to God” jars. Each jar was filled with scriptures, symbols, and personal notes to represent the things we carry and the things we are learning to let go of. The focus was on recognizing what we can control and what we cannot and finding peace in releasing what feels too heavy to hold onto alone. Service users can use them to return to during difficult moments as a reminder that they are not alone and do not have to carry everything at once. 💚

What started as a drabby, rainy day turned into sunshine, laughter, and some really great memories ☀️

The Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness and Recovery Center's picnic at Broadford Park today was full of fun! Picnic snacks, fishing by the water, yard games, music, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. You could feel the shift as the day went on with more smiles, more laughs, and everyone really settling into the moment. We saw teamwork, encouragement, and some awesome socializing, along with a few peaceful moments by the water that made the day feel complete.

We cherish the days we get the chance to get out, connect, and have a little fun together! 💚

Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. is excited to share our new Share the Warmth shed, a blessing box style space for clothing donations and year-round food items for our community. A huge thank you to Mr. Bowser and 23 of his amazing Carpentry students from the 2025-2026 school year at Southern Garrett High School for building this with care and generosity. Your work will make a real difference! 💚

Winter clothing donations and blankets will be available to the public this October 2026. Stay tuned!

Such a great day at the Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. Wellness and Recovery Center!

We got creative by making spring fresh flower displays with carboard vase cutouts. 🌸 Then we broke in our newly set up basement with some pool games full of laughs and friendly competition. 🎱 Just one of those simple, feel-good days that reminds us how important it is to connect and have fun. 💚

We had an egg-cellent time at our Easter Social today! 🐣🌷

Garrett County Lighthouse, Inc. service users enjoyed cupcakes, cookies, punch, Mario Kart, an axe throwing yard game, and our fun “Pass the Peep” and "Puffy Peep Cheeks" games. The room was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and great conversation. It was wonderful to see everyone socializing, supporting one another, and simply enjoying time together.

Moments like these help build connection, confidence, and positive memories. 💛 Happy Easter from all of us at the Wellness and Recovery Center!

Today during our Creative Therapy group, service users created colorful tissue paper flowers to add to the decoupage vases that staff prepared last week. They enjoyed choosing colors, shaping their flowers, and expressing their creativity in a relaxed and social environment. Activities like this encourage creativity, confidence, and connection while giving everyone something unique and beautiful to feel proud of 🌸

Join us for the 3rd Annual Color Run for Children’s Mental Health on May 16th! We’re heading to The Glades from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for an afternoon of bouncy houses, raffles, movement, and vibrant fun.
Whether you run, walk, or dance your way through the course, every splash of color helps shine a light on the importance of youth mental wellness. It’s more than just a race—it’s about showing our kids that they have a community that supports them.
