We couldn't ask for a more perfect Bay Area day! A brave bunch of residents and staff eagerly walked the Bay Bridge on Wednesday, enjoying the beautiful views surrounding the bay.

The massive structure connects San Francisco and Oakland. It consists of two segments connected by a tunnel through Yerba Buena Island. The West Span is a suspension bridge while the East Span is a self-anchored.

Our new sous chef Glynn cooked an amazing Namibia Chef's Dinner with the proteins cooked over an open wood fire.

Glynn circulated the dining room and was able to converse with three different sets of residents who traveled to Namibia before showing that it is indeed a small world. Raves from residents about the incredible flavors!

Thank you, Glynn, for making a great tasting dinner and for bringing back memories for some!

Looks like our residents had a fun time making SPT Power Bites, a no-bake, heart healthy energy snack. In March, we celebrate National Nutrition Month and this is the first of several fun activities planned by our registered dietitian, Sabra, and prepared by our dynamic kitchen team.

There's a day to celebrate something and this heart-shaped berry is no exception! February 27 is National Strawberry Day! Sous Chef Glynn has prepared a delicious Strawberry Tres Leches cake with a dollop of strawberry whipped cream and a pool of compote made with...you guessed it, strawberries! The afternoon turned out to be nice and warm and nothing beats a cup of refreshing Strawberry Lemonade!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Let's welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with wishes for positive energy, prosperity, and success! SPT celebrated the Lunar New Year with a spectacular and fun lion dance performance and a special menu serving Chinese meal favorites. Residents and staff dressed to impress by wearing traditional clothing.

Crab feed season is here!

This dinner is one of the well-loved special meals at St. Paul's Towers! Starters were a creamy Corn and Potato Chowder and an Iceberg Wedge Salad sprinkled with bacon, bleu cheese and cherry tomatoes. The main event is fresh cracked Dungeness crab paired with drawn butter and lemon or an option of Spaghetti with Marinara sauce and meatballs. The accompaniments were rice pilaf, zucchini, corn and a toasty garlic bread. The sweet finale is cherry pie! Yum! Everyone was feeling a little 'crabby'...in a good way!

What a game!
Superbowl Sunday at St. Paul's Towers meant an extra fun afternoon, the excitement on the big screen, conversations with dear friends, ice-cold beer, warm pretzels, popcorn and corn dogs! Oh, and don't forget the much-awaited halftime show!

After having chocolate cake weeks ago, let's try another yummy and healthier treat! Chef Josh concocted no sugar added carrot-banana muffins and the classic, carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting. The coffee machine is right around the corner! Coffee and cake, what could be better?

The American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement encourages everyone to wear red on National Wear Red Day. The goal is to raise awareness of heart disease prevention and to educate women on cardiovascular health. Our Health Services team delivered a superb presentation on this important topic. The fun part was the audience were given heart-shaped swag such as stress balls, heart pins, chocolates and candies.

We just wrapped up a special party celebrating residents who moved in on or before 2010! Everyone had an amazing time reminiscing all the years that flew by and how things have changed since then.
