✨Feeling deeply grateful after an incredible weekend co-leading our Lakeside Yoga & Mental Health Retreat with the amazing Kylie Swenson✨
It was such an honor to hold space together in this breathtaking lakeside setting — blending movement, mindfulness, and mental health work in community. From sunrise yoga to reflective workshops, and heartfelt conversations by the fire, the energy all weekend was so healing and real.
A special shoutout to and for the most beautiful tea ceremony to close out this meaningful weekend. 🍵💫

Defusion is a skill to help you create some distance from your thoughts. It is the practice of letting go of thoughts that are not serving us in the moment. For example, if you are in bed at night thinking how horrible tomorrow is going to be this is likely not a helpful thought in that what are you trying to do in the moment is sleep so you can feel rested the next day. This would be a good time to practice defusion. This meditation is one of the many ways you can practice defusion!

The images we see on social media can promotes a negative body image. However, there is hope because new research shows that if we change our social media visual intake we can shift our views of ourselves and of others in a more positive direction.

Ways to shift/change our visual intake in order to promote a healthier body image:

Unfollow unhealthy influences on social media
Follow body positive people on social media
Change add preferences on social media, consider investing in an add blocker
Stop buying fashion magazines

The best way to overcome your fears is to face them straight on. The more we avoid them the greater our anxiety grows. If you would have asked me one year ago if I would be out skiing, I would have said no way I am too afraid to get hurt. Now I am skiing intermediate trails. At times, I still have fears about falling and getting hurt but no way will I let that fear hold me back anymore.
