Did you know that the Pilgrims regarded March 25th as the beginning of the new calendar year? You will sometimes see dates in January, February and March referred to by two years (such as 1622/23). The first year is the year as computed by the Pilgrims. The second year is the year as computed by the modern calendar. It’s known as "Old Style/New Style" dual system of dating.

Did you know that when you become a member of the California Society of Mayflower Descendants, you're also a member of the General Society in Plymouth? You are also assigned to a colony (chapter) in a region close to you.

This is a great way to meet and socialize with your fellow Mayflower cousins! Attend events and be a part of your community in Mayflower. Colonies are preparing to host their Compact Day gatherings in November to help celebrate the signing of the Mayflower Compact and celebrate Thanksgiving!

Long before the first Federal Census was recorded in 1790, there was the Division of Cattle recorded in the Plymouth Colony Records on 22 May 1627. This is a very important document because it names all the members of each household, including the names of women and children -- making it in essence a complete census of 1627 Plymouth.

On Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, The Warren Cousins will join the St. John the Baptist Church family in Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, England, to dedicate a memorial commemorating the marriage of Mayflower Pilgrim Richard Warren and Elizabeth Walker, married at this church April 14, 1610.
