Practicing through Grateful Heart Holistic Therapy Ce I incorporate astrology and the Enneagram as desired.

I practice psychotherapy through Grateful Heart with clients who are committed to deeper self reflection and transformation. Here we can address specific mental health issues, long-standing patterns, trauma, grief, and improving relationships. I especially love working with clients on self-criticism, self-esteem, perfectionism, defining one's own masculinity/femininity, and disability.

This is the goal. Not to punish or get rid of any part of ourselves. But to walk alongside each of them, knowing they all have their place and value, even the ugly or scary ones.

Nice thinkpiece on identity, travel, and tropes. Too bad that while Tyrion Lannister is one of the most popular disabled characters in modern media, HBO learned nothing and leaned hard into disabled cringe and villainy with House of the Dragon.

The long read: For centuries, fictional narratives have used outer difference to telegraph inner monstrosity. As someone who uses a wheelchair, I’ve learned you can’t just edit out a few slurs or bad words to fix this – it’s often baked deep into the story

You should check out my buddy Kyle's podcast, he starts a lot of good conversations about all kinds of issues around disability. He was good enough to have me on as a guest (even if he did change the topic on me 😆).

Psychotherapist Mike MacLafferty guest stars on our show, joined by cohost and friend of the Network, Dawson Grey. Luis and Kyle pick apart gender norms, bre...

I was born with cerebral palsy, and I use a wheelchair much of the time. Being a disabled person has shaped my personality and outlook on life. On one hand, it is challenging to thrive in a world that is not made to welcome me, and to embody things that most people fear. On the other hand, I think it has increased my patience, grace, and equanimity. Disability is also my firsthand way of understanding discrimination. Patriarchal capitalism is not very creative, and uses the same mechanics to oppress different groups of people. Ableism, misogyny, racism, homophobia and transphobia—they are more similar than they are different. I hope to provide you with a space to explore and witness all the varied, complex, and sometimes contradictory parts of who you are, and how you relate in this world.

A reinterpretation of Leo and solar energy in relation to the assumptions and expectations of capitalism and ableism.

I enjoyed this conversation about connections between therapy and acting/improv. Hint: it’s all about presence (I know could speak more to this). I’m not an actor, but I am a role playing nerd, and I love when interests collide.

Do you know a man ready to explore issues of childhood trauma, toxic masculinity, and/or shame? Here are some of my thoughts on these topics. I support men (and people of all genders) in knowing and embodying their authentic selves, and I am currently accepting new clients.

Therapy for issues men face today. Exploring one's sense of masculinity, determining what ideas were toxic, and what might be accepted to feel more whole.
