Our Building Practice in Community (BPIC) program and our Continuing Education curriculum are both designed to support therapists and make sure they don’t feel alone in this work—that they have a community, practical tools, and spaces to grow as they offer long-term, trauma-responsive care.

A Home Within has exciting news - we're now partnering with Foster Greatness!
Far too many young people leave foster care only to find themselves without a safety net — no community, no guidance, no resources.

Foster Greatness is changing that through their platform -- where adults who've aged out of foster care can find connection, opportunities, resources, and real support, without time limits.

Our shared vision? A world where every person who has lived through the foster system feels seen, supported, and unstoppable. We’re proud to uplift partners who share our belief that healing happens in community. Soon, A Home Within will be listed among their many resources available to foster youth! Thirty years ago, A Home Within began with a simple promise: to show up for foster youth, for free, for as long as it takes. Today, that promise is alive in every client-therapist relationship — like long-time client, Maya said:

“After years of moving between placements, my AHW therapist is the first adult who’s kept showing up. Week after week. Year after year. That’s changed everything for me.”

We began reaching out to therapists in the Raleigh–Durham area after seeing the opportunity to support more young people in foster care across the state.
