Native American Health Center (NAHC) has two main health centers: 7 Directions located at 2950 International Blvd, Oakland, CA and our San Francisco location at 160 Capp St., San Francisco, CA 94110. Native American Health Center provides holistic, whole person medical, dental, community wellness and social services to everyone in our surrounding communities. Before the concrete was poured, leadership of NAHC placed to***co, cedar, and sweetgrass into the foundation of Flicker. The smoke rose to our ancestors and we built those prayers into this building. Joe Rivera’s handprint and initials are set in that concrete. “I helped build that,” he said. We spent the past year documenting this amazing journey. As our CEO, Natalie says, “This is what happens when we reclaim our space, when we build with our own hands, when we refuse to be erased.” We are proud to share with you our newest short film, Legacy Rising.

Drive down International Boulevard in Oakland’s Fruitvale neighborhood this week and you might catch a glimpse of our partners at Nibbi Brothers General Contractors installing the California Native–inspired flicker feather band across the front of our new building, Flicker.
Traditionally worn as part of dance regalia, the flicker band symbolizes healing and helps dancers stay grounded in their purpose.
Now, it will greet everyone who walks through our doors—a vibrant reminder of cultural strength, protection, and the deep roots that guide our community.
