Farewell, Atomic Dog

This morning, we said goodbye to one of the most unique souls to ever walk through the doors of Ownit Rx, Atomic Dog.

If you’ve trained with the morning crew, you know him. He’d wander the floor with quiet confidence, take in the scene, and somehow command attention without saying a word. For years, he’s been a de facto member of the gym, showing up with Mundi, reminding us what loyalty and presence look like.

Atomic Dog was one of the strangest and coolest dogs I’ve ever met, a true original. There was something about him that made you pause, smile, and just be in the moment.

This morning, Mundi brought him in one last time to say goodbye to the people and the space he’s been part of. It was a quiet, powerful reminder of how deeply our companions shape our lives.

We’ll miss you, Atomic Dog. You were one of one, and you’ll always be part of this place.

RECOVERY THAT WORKS.
At Ownit Rx, recovery isn’t optional. It’s the foundation that lets you train harder, stay injury-free, and keep making progress.

Here are 6 recovery methods we trust:

Sauna – 20 min heat (180–200°F) post-workout. Flush stress. Reset.

Contrast Shower – 3 min hot / 1 min cold × 3–5 sets. Shock your system.

Brisk Walk – 20–40 min outside. Clear your head. Heal your body.

Pool Work – 10–20 min jog or tread. Active recovery. Low impact, high return.

Cold Plunge – ≤50°F for 1 min. Flip the switch. Prime your nervous system.

Sleep – 8 hrs quality rest. The #1 recovery tool. Non-negotiable.
