Please, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in the fire and ems communities, stay home tonight and tomorrow. The roads are ice/snow packed and slick and the wind chills are at dangerous levels. If it’s not an emergency, don’t go out and become the emergency. If you do, then we have to get out and risk our lives too. Just a friendly public service reminder. May God bless you all and keep you safe.

Road Closures:

155 Southbound near Lincoln
I-55 Near Springfield
I-57 Mattoon to Tuscola
I-80 (Sections btwn Quad Cities and Iowa City)

Roads are bad. Don't be out if you don't need to be. Far too many are driving around and shopping still when weather is inclement.
