We love medicinal herbs and the stories your body has to tell. María José Montijo & Amy Mosley, L.Ac. Health is a complex project. We all need guidance and support when we are sick, stressed, in pain, quitting smoking, feeling anxious, or simply dealing with the day-to-day or the bigger picture. Frequent and regular treatment is the key, and so community acupuncture offers a unique opportunity. Community Acupuncture in a warm and comfortable setting for $20/session. Private acupuncture also available for $60/session, and the chance for more in-depth diagnostics and other Chinese medicine modalities (cupping, gua sha, etc). To encourage community acupuncture patients to periodically receive more in-depth care, and to encourage private patients to receive more frequent care, for each private appointment received, patients can receive a community appointment for $10.

Sending much appreciation out to all our patients and Oakland community! After nearly seven years, Shift has closed our doors. The time naturally came for the collective to move our separate ways, on to other endeavors. Yesterday’s Free Auricular Clinic in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. People came early to get treatments, the line was long, people hung out and healed in community. I was surprised to see the youth come for stress relief. So inspired by the work of Salud y Acupunctura para el Pueblo. Decolonization starts from within.

This is what radical health care looks like. Squatting a building for post-Maria community relief work(having to resist the police to do it), building a community kitchen to feed the hungry, offer a weekly auricular acupuncture clinic, and workshops like "how to tackle machismo".....Say what?
Please support the homies at Centro de Apoyo Mutuo de Caguas, they are doing the good work and fighting the good fight in Puerto Rico, all for the love, 100% volunteer work, promoting and growing a decentralized trade economy. They fed up to 500 people daily after Hurricane Maria, and 100 people daily now, breakfast and lunch.
They are running out of ear seeds and needles for auricular acupuncture.

Black panthers championed and popularized auricular acupuncture for underserved communities way before acupuncture was mainstream. With the Young Lords, they took and opened free community acupuncture clinics at the Lincoln Hospital in NYC.

Thanks to all of your support in our fundraising efforts for post-hurricane Maria Puerto Rico, Shift Acupuncture Collective member was able to take 300 bottles of herbal medicine to the island. Apoyo for PTSD or as we prefer to call it PTSG(post traumatic stress growth), Calma for calming the mind, reducing anxiety and stress, and Resistencia for building a strong immune system and healing wounds. Thank you to all that helped make it happen, our ACTCM teacher Paz Vizcarra for sharing her expertise and vitamix, for the bottles, , and Rosi for the help bottling, and for last minute packing magic. Community medicine from the Bay Area community to the Puerto Rican grass-roots community with lots of love! Stay tuned for more on this story....

Due to the East Coast Storm, my flight to Puerto Rico got cancelled and pushed back. Therefore I have openings this Monday for acupuncture and biodynamic craniosacral touch. In celebration of Three Kings Day, I will sing and play the harp for all my patients
