Choosing the right clinical supervisor is key to your growth as a clinician.

Here are four things to look for:

1️⃣ A safe and supportive space where you can share challenges and ask questions
2️⃣ Encouragement to reflect and grow as a clinician
3️⃣ Openness to discussion about all aspects of your work
4️⃣ A collaborative and respectful relationship built on trust

The right supervision helps you gain confidence, strengthen your skills, and feel supported in your career.

Clinical supervision should feel both safe and challenging.

It’s a space where you can ask questions freely, reflect on your work, and grow as a clinician. Supervision should be collaborative, supportive, and open to exploring uncertainty, mistakes, and all the topics that come up in clinical practice — including countertransference and ethical questions.

A good supervision relationship invites curiosity, reflection, and connection while helping you develop confidence in your clinical voice.

If you’re seeking supervision that is supportive, multicultural-forward, and growth-oriented, reach out to Lynnea Molina, founder of Mindfully Well.

Dr. Tammy Nelson’s work reminds us that intimacy does not change through avoidance or silence. It changes through conversation. For many people, talking about s*x can feel vulnerable, uncomfortable, or overwhelming, especially if they have never had a safe space to do so.

At MW, s*x therapy focuses on creating an environment where conversations about desire, boundaries, and connection feel supported and respectful. Our work is grounded in helping clients build language around intimacy and explore what they need in ways that feel emotionally safe and paced.

Most couples don’t come to therapy because they’re “bad at relationships.”

They come because the story they were living inside no longer fits.

This framework, inspired by the work of Tammy Nelson, moves relationships through five phases:

Crisis / Discovery
Something disrupts the old narrative — betrayal, loss of desire, illness, or realizing “this isn’t working.”

Stabilization & Safety
We slow things down, reduce reactivity, and create enough safety to actually talk.

Insight & Meaning-Making
We name the story you believed about love, s*x, or forever — and where it came from.

Grief & Letting Go
We mourn what isn’t true anymore. Holding onto an old story often creates the most pain.

Vision & Re-Creation
With clarity and grief honored, a new relationship can be intentionally created.

At Mindfully Well Therapy, our clinicians are trained to guide couples through this process helping you release what no longer fits and build a relationship that works for this season of life.

Integrative S*x Therapy supports both individuals and couples in understanding intimacy as part of overall emotional and relational well being. Rooted in the work of Tammy Nelson, this approach recognizes that desire, connection, communication, and s*xuality are deeply intertwined.

At Mindfully Well Therapy, individuals may explore their relationship with desire, pleasure, boundaries, and past experiences that shape intimacy. Couples may work on communication, desire differences, emotional or physical disconnection, rebuilding trust, and creating a more fulfilling intimate connection.

This work is not about performance or quick fixes. It is about creating space for honest conversations, deeper self awareness, emotional safety, and intimacy that can grow in ways that feel aligned and meaningful.

The start of a new year can bring a lot of pressure to reset, change, and do more. This is your reminder that entering a new season does not require urgency or perfection.

There is no single right way to begin the year. You can move slowly. You can rest. You can set intentions instead of resolutions. You can focus on support instead of self criticism.

However this year begins for you, let it start with compassion for where you are right now.

New Year’s Eve often comes with the idea that we should wipe the slate clean and start over. This belief can create a lot of pressure to feel different the moment the year changes.

Change rarely happens all at once. Growth usually unfolds gradually and non linearly. It is shaped by our environment, our support systems, and what we are able to carry in a given season of life.

You do not need to erase who you were this year to move forward. Carrying your experiences with you is not a failure. It is part of how learning and growth happen.

There is no requirement to feel resolved or transformed as the year ends. You are allowed to enter the new year exactly as you are.

Wherever you are starting is enough.

Psychology behind Mondays 🧠

If Mondays feel heavier than other days, there is a real psychological reason for that.

Our brains and nervous systems are constantly responding to transitions. Moving from rest, flexibility, or unstructured time into routine, responsibility, and expectations can temporarily activate the body’s stress response. This shift does not mean anything is wrong. It is simply your system adjusting.

Because of this, Mondays often feel harder not due to lack of motivation or willpower, but because the nervous system is recalibrating. During transitions, the brain may stay in a heightened state of alert, which can affect focus, energy, and emotional regulation.

Self kindness plays an important role here. When we respond to ourselves with compassion instead of pressure, we send signals of safety to the brain. This helps the nervous system settle, making it easier to concentrate, regulate emotions, and move into the week with more steadiness.

If today feels slow or off, it does not mean you are failing the week. It means your system is doing what it is designed to do.

It is common to judge our emotions during the holidays, especially when expectations are high and emotions feel intense. Many people tell themselves they should feel more grateful, calmer, or happier than they do.

Before minimizing your feelings, it can help to pause and consider what you may be carrying. Holiday stress, grief, family dynamics, cultural differences, and lack of rest can all impact how you feel. These reactions are not signs of weakness. They are human responses to a meaningful and often demanding season.

You are allowed to feel what you feel, and you do not need to justify it.
