We just learned of a small business grant that we feel is perfectly suited to the impact we make at tranquilityRx. Would you mind taking a few minutes to nominate us? Here is everything you would need to nominate us, and not that you have to use it but here is narrative we’ve used to win our grants prizes and service awards for the over 5 years of programming for the section on why.
The deadline is November 14. Please let us know if you complete the nomination. Thank you for helping us out! Here is the program:

Ending conflict starts with finding peace from inside. Through the healing power of touch movement and voice, tranquilityRx works to transmute suffering into a creative and fruitful enterprise. For equity, their services extend beyond those who can afford it. A certified and credentialed massage practice and licensed bed and breakfast and community retreat, they established JUSTtouch, a program sponsored by Oakland Communities United for Equity and Justice. They supervise externships for massage students’ practice hours to provide free massage therapy to over 300 Oakland low income residents for no cost. Their success is due in part through partnership with the Self Help Hunger Program and Oakland Unite, among others. JUSTtouch and their new offerings, Walking the Path and their Trauma Study Circles, were sponsored by the Department of Violence Prevention for the City of Oakland. The trauma study course was developed for the non profits, frontline workers, police and clients working to support the chronic poor up and down the San Pablo corridor in west Oakland. tranquilityRx believes that everyone can access the tools to better deal with stresses and traumas and build emotional intelligence. They believe that nurturing care facilitates and restores equilibrium, aids in shifting lifestyle habits and choices toward resilience, healthy eating and physical activity, and helps in creatively handling conflict and pain. They work in this way because they believe that the culture of health is in the quality of the neighborhood, and so much support is needed in so many neighborhoods in Oakland. All these years of community action offerings providing access at no cost, organizing with groups feeding people, caring, in solidarity and alignment, is testament to their continuing impact in their community.
