The caregiver is responsible for all assigned duties related to the care, well-being and safety of residents. Caregivers receive supervision from and report to the Administrator (in this case, the Licensee/ Administrator).
Caregiver duties include:
● Performing safety checks on residents.
● Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including but not limited to:
dressing, grooming, bathing and other personal hygiene.
● Offering medication assistance, pursuant to proper training.
● Escorting residents to and from meals and activities.
● Assisting residents in emergencies, including calling 911 when necessary.
● Cleaning rooms as necessary.
● Completing resident laundry as requested.
● Charting and documenting appropriate information, such as medication administration, care notes, etc.
● Assisting with residents’ dietary requirements, including meal preparation.
● Participating in training.
● Ensuring the safety and health of residents.
● Completing incident reports as necessary.
● Reporting health, safety, and sanitation concerns to the administrator.
● Reporting known or suspected elder abuse pursuant to LOC 341A (within 2 days of
incident).
● Providing and leading resident activities.
Qualifications: The caregiver must:
● Be at least 18 years of age.
● Possess DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearances.
● Possess current first aid and CPR certification
All staff transporting residents shall be Fire Aid/CPR certified.
● Have completed a health screening and present a negative TB test that is less than 6 months old and completed within 7 days of hire.
● Be able to lift 20lbs unassisted and push 40lbs unassisted.
● Comply with facility policies and procedures and with State Licensing guidelines.
