Jumpstart Therapy & Fitness Network was established in 1987 by Catherine Risigo, MS, OTR/L, a certified Occupational Therapist with a Master’s Degree in nutrition. During her years of practice, Catherine noticed that there was something missing from her thriving therapy business: kids referred to her therapy program did not always need traditional Physical, Speech, Behavioral, or Occupational Therapy. The lack of core muscle strength and a sedentary lifestyle has an unwanted impact on learning, behavior, and overall development which affects the child and the family as a whole. Ms. Risigo developed innovative therapy and fitness program for children of all ages, shapes, and sizes to help children overcome barriers to success and thrive. After extensive research, she found evidence to support the benefits of physical activity in reducing unwanted behaviors, building self-esteem, and increasing learning potential. Jumpstart Therapy and Fitness Network is a 3,000 square foot unique indoor fitness and therapy experience. Our facility encourages imaginary, unstructured play that is lacking in today’s heavily structured lifestyle. Jumpstart’s one of a kind castle room, featuring climbing walls and trees, a zipline and more help children develop necessary motor skills, coordination, and imagination. While it looks like pure fun and games, children are actually learning skills that lay the foundation for learning in a fun and engaging environment

Our dedicated staff of Occupational Therapists, Fitness Coaches, and Program directors are passionate about the work they perform every day. We see it in the parents’ faces. We hear about it from teachers, parents, other therapists, and medical professionals. But most of all, we see it in the children we care so much about.
