I was listening to some Christian preacher. John Mc-something and he made a point that I had never thought of. He read Philemon 1 and he pointed out that the Romans considered Paul their prisoner but Paul considered himself a prisoner of Christ Jesus.

Sometimes it can get us down and feeling lonely when most others (especially family) don't believe what we have come to see in the Scriptures. Some go so far as to think you are crazy or in a religious cult. Some even hate you and turn their backs on you. But keep in mind John 7:1-9 esp v 5. Even His brothers did not come to believe in Him yet. They grew up with Him! Well, it looks like we are in good company, eh? Keep your chin up :~)

We have lost our path in sharing with others. Paul tells us that he is our example/type/model for us Phil 3:17, 2Thes 3:9. Look at how Paul handled Felix and Drusilla at the end of Acts 24. Did Paul argue that "All is allowed me" so I am free to do anything I want? Did he argue God is in control of all things in an absolute view? Nope. When talking about faith in Christ Jesus, he argued with them about righteousness, self-control, and the impending judgement. Even to the point where it scared Felix! Self-control? How often do we share this? When we do, some believers start shouting, "all is allowed me" and "God is in control"! You are free in Christ not free from Christ. If you are in the Body of Christ then what you do either glorifies Him or shames Him! Being in The Body, at the same time, it glorifies us or shames us- it's not about YOU! This is all in the context of 1Cor 6 and 10. It's not bo***ge or a set of morals of the World, but bo***ge and standards in Christ. Believers like hearing the word "freedom and allowed", but where is the recognition that we are slaves of Christ and Righteousness? (Rom 6:16) How does S**T, F**K, or GODDAMN glorify Him? How does drinking myself to death glorify Him? How does sharing my body (part of The Body of Christ) with someone I am not married to (or committed to) glorify Him? Don't get me wrong, we can never be perfect trapped in these fleshly shells. But I encourage you to try and glorify our Lord. There IS an impending judgement. There is a race for the wreath!

Even the littlest details found in the Scriptures never ceases to amaze me. Of all the prisoners Pilate could have released, the throng called out for Bar-Abbas. Seems like maybe they would have used the opportunity to get a friend out or something, but instead, they called out the name or a murderer. Ever wonder why? The throng knew Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God-the Father. So of all the prisoners they chose Bar-Abbas who's name, literally in Aramaic, means Son-Father!

It truly baffles me to think someone can believe in God, yet believe He is ignorant of trillions upon trillions of things. If one believes in an absolute 'freewill' of any of His creation (much less of just mankind), then that one by definition believes God is ignorant. A human scientist who creates something may be ignorant of every detail, but I cannot see God not knowing every detail.

I have been chipping away at my Concordant Version's Keyword Concordance checking out every word and writing the Koine Greek Uncial word next to the English word. One word that really caught my attention today was the word for Astonish (ek pless o mai). Jesus astonished the throng with His teaching, and healed the deaf and dumb, the epileptic. Same with the teachings of His disciples. A proconsul was astonished at Paul. What ek pless o mai literally means is "out-blow." First thing that came to my mind was that all these occurrences were not some mundane "wow" thing like a magician or slick tongued politician could do. It was literally mind-blowing, a total blow-out!

Rick Warren, big time mega church pastor in LA, was on Fox and friends this morning. At the end of the interview he commented that, "if you don't follow me on Twitter, YOU'RE GOING TO HELL! BRAHAHAHAHA!" Yes, he busted out laughing. Regardless if you believe in the Orthodox Eternal Hellfire, or you scripturaly understand what Hades, Gehenna, Tartarus, and the Lake of Fire truly are, I don't think it's a laughing matter. I often see bumper stickers, church signs, billboards, etc that are of the same nature. Seems pretty tacky.
