It's the last day of Fall tomorrow!

Here are some "Safety and Fall Prevention" tips Viceroy's team has prepared and want to share with you...

Clear Walkways: Fallen leaves are beautiful but become very slippery when wet or frozen. Regularly clear leaves and debris from all walkways, driveways, and porches to prevent slips and falls.

Ensure Adequate Lighting: Days get shorter, so ensure all indoor and outdoor areas are well-lit. Replace burnt-out bulbs, consider motion-activated lights, and have flashlights with fresh batteries accessible in case of a power outage.

Wear Proper Footwear: Invest in shoes with non-slip soles that provide good traction and support.

Install Safety Features: Add handrails on both sides of stairs and grab bars in bathrooms (showers, near toilets) for added stability.

Prepare for Winter Weather: Have plenty of food supplies and extra layers ready to embrace the cold temperatures.

Meet Michele who recently celebrated her second anniversary of working with Viceroy making her one of our longest running employees. Her favorite thing about the job is the flexibility to make her own schedule. Michelle says, "I love working with elderly people and I love hearing their stories. I feel very helpful while still giving them the freedom they need."

Michele earned her degree in computer science then worked as a database administrator for 30 years. She wanted to do something different and more active. A friend who is a caregiver recommended she try it, then she responded to our hiring advertisement.

Originally from Massachusetts she moved to Florida to be closer to her dad and enjoy the weather.

In her free time, Michele plays pickleball or volunteers at a local animal shelter where she walks the dogs and gives them love. Being a true animal lover, she has adopted two dogs and six cats. At one time, she had five feral cats in her neighborhood having kittens. Michele successfully caught all five cats and had them spayed, while also getting the 45 kittens adopted! Impressive work.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Retired

Holiday plans? My family will come to my house to celebrate
