That's where the "Cookie Man & Cookie Woman" name came from.

Drs. Philip & Angela Rodger — showing up at competitions across Central Florida with adjustments and snacks, because that's what good medicine looks like.

But in all seriousness: the competition environment is where we do some of our most important work.

Here's something most people don't know about animal bodies:

When one area hurts, the rest of the body quietly shifts to protect it.

Your dog starts landing differently after a jump. Your horse leans on the bit more on one rein. Your agility dog stops driving hard out of the chute.

They're not slowing down. They're compensating.

The horse wouldn't pick up his left lead.

His rider had been working on it for months. Different saddle fitting. Different training approaches. Lunging exercises.

Nothing stuck.

His trainer said it was a training issue.

We said: let us take a look first.

He had a pelvis that wasn't tracking evenly and a right shoulder that was bracing with every stride — his whole body was compensating to avoid something that hurt.

After the adjustment, his rider asked to trot him out.

He picked up the left lead on the first ask.

She stopped. Looked at us. Didn't say a word.

She didn't have to. 🐴

Here's the thing: when a horse says "no," it's worth asking why before assuming it's a training gap.

They're not being difficult. They're being honest.
