If you've never experienced abdominal massage, it can feel vulnerable. Instinctually, this totally makes sense. You are literally trusting me to work on the most vulnerable area of your body- your vital organs!
Many people carry stress and tension in their abdominal area without even realizing it, so allowing this area to be worked on can be both a physical and emotional release.
One of the most significant benefits of abdominal massage is its ability to deeply soothe the nervous system. Your abdomen is closely tied to your autonomic nervous system, meaning that gentle, intentional touch in this area can help you shift out of "fight-or-flight" mode and into a state of relaxation and healing. This is especially powerful if you're dealing with chronic stress, anxiety, or digestive issues. Regular abdominal massage can aid digestion, reduce bloating, and help regulate bowel movements, improving overall gut health.
In addition to its calming effects on the nervous system, abdominal massage can provide relief for those dealing with PMS, PCOS, and endometriosis.
