🍝 Did you know? Contrary to popular belief, when Marco Polo brought noodles back to Italy from China, this was nothing new. Pasta-making had been an ancient practice in Italy for a long time. And those ancients were Africans, also called Etruscans.
The Etruscans are described as “dark skinned Africans” who were in Europe before the Romans. They were said to worship Ra, the same deity revered by the ancient Kemetic people (Black Egyptians).
The Etruscans were excellent artists, craftsman, soldiers & rulers. Their flourishing economy was based on agriculture, valuable minerals & trade with other nations.🌟NOTE: This is a SEPARATE group from the Black Moors, who would come later in the 800s.
The earliest evidence of pasta comes from a 2,400 year-old Etruscan tomb. The art depicts Black people making pasta from scratch, along with real-life kitchen utensils.
To quote the ShareThePasta website, “…pasta can be traced back as far as the 4th century B.C., where an Etruscan tomb showed a group of natives making what appears to be pasta.”
When the Moors came to the area in the 800s, they took the practice further by inventing dried pasta. Moors began building factories in Sicily to mass-produce their new product, which they exported to other nations.
So next time you’re in the store buying your favorite type of spaghetti, be sure to thank your African ancestors. They made it possible!
