We’re so grateful to Principal Jill Romine and Ambleside High School's Silver Belles Spa program; every time they visit, it brings the residents and community such joy!

They offer spa “stations” led by their own senior students, to care, connect and have meaningful moments with the seniors. 😊

One resident, Sally even brought her personal family photo album and flipped through the pages, reminiscing and sharing with the group.

They’ll be back April 7th at 3:45pm in the Life Enrichment Room, so come on in and say hello!

Every other Saturday, our Life Enrichment Coordinator Heidi has a new and exciting craft, often reflecting seasons and resident interests in new and inventive ways.

The results are in - The Windsor of Ocala took 1st place in South Florida for the March Mayhem Basketball Tournament! 🏀

Our team practiced faithfully for months and dedicated their season to their beloved teammate LaVerne, whose passion and enthusiasm for the game inspired them all. A longtime member of the team, LaVerne helped grow the program and even created the original team name, “Thunderbolts.”

Naming this year’s team “Lightning” was a perfect tribute to her, and her presence was truly felt - Go Lightning! 💛

On March 16th, we joined together in celebration of Norm’s 100th birthday at our community for a beautiful and emotional tribute. Surrounding Norm were family, friends, and community members showing their support for his birthday and appreciation for his service in the Marines during WWII and the National Guard.

We want to thank everyone who came together to make his birthday special; Norm said later he felt like a celebrity! Seeing him surrounded by love and connecting so quickly with Howard, reminiscing about their shared experiences in the service, and the immediate brotherhood they clearly felt was amazing.

Thank you to all of his family, including Kim and Daniel; Michelle Langdon from American Legion Post 27; Veterans Helping Veterans Director Todd Belknap; Charlie Calhoun, Commander of American Legion Post 354; WWII Vet Howard Mautner; and Ocala City Councilman Jim Hilty Sr. - thank you to Barkley for singing The Star-Spangled Banner and Happy Birthday!

On National Associate Appreciation Day, we had the joy of celebrating our incredible team members who are truly the heart of our community.

Every day, their compassion, dedication, and hard work make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are so grateful for each and every one of them.

What a fun and energetic day with a visit from the Soccer Dogs interactive program!

Everyone gathered in a circle, sharing laughs and smiles as they kicked the ball to one another while four adorable, well-trained dogs kept the game moving all around the room.

Our favorite part might have been the “referee” dog, proudly carrying a whistle and keeping a close eye on all the action!

This unique program brought so much joy, movement, and connection to everyone involved. 💙

Each month, Justin, our Maintenance Director, goes above and beyond to plan fun programs for the residents. From ice cream socials to strumming songs on his guitar, and most recently, The Price is Right Game – where residents guess the cost of items he brings from the store for a chance to win – he’s always creating moments of joy.

However, it’s not just about the activities. Residents love seeing Justin every day as he greets everyone with a smile and works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our community running smoothly. The one-on-one time they share with him is truly cherished!

We’re so excited to announce Ambleside High School has brought their program “Silver Belles: Spa Services for Seniors” to our Residence, an intergenerational program fostering connection and care through nails, hair, makeup, massage, and even dachshund puppies!

Please join us in celebrating Sheena, our Annual Legend of Honor recipient! 🎉

For 13 years, Sheena has been a dedicated member of the Legend Senior Living family, finding her true calling in serving seniors and building meaningful connections.

She treasures the wisdom residents share - like Joanie’s life mantra, “Hakuna Matata” - and lives out one of our Pillars of Practice each day by greeting everyone with a sincere smile.

Her joyful spirit (and love of dancing!) brightens the lives of residents and fellow associates alike, and we are beyond grateful for the heart and dedication she brings to our community every single day. 💙✨

This year, we put a vintage twist on Valentine’s Day by celebrating the last century of music and entertainment instead of hosting a traditional Sweethearts Dance. ❤️✨

Residents and guests chose characters and costumes inspired by their favorite TV shows, movies, music icons, and decades - from The Golden Girls and Mr. Rogers to 70s flower power and more.

A highlight of the evening was Resident Jane dressing as “The Warden,” a meaningful nod to her 35-year career as a women’s prison warden, a role she remains deeply passionate about.

With music spanning from Bing Crosby to Bruno Mars - two songs from every decade - we danced the night away and may have just started a brand-new annual tradition!
