Most nail changes are harmless.
However, some can be early signs of underlying conditions that should not be overlooked.

Changes in color, thickness, or how the nail sits can sometimes indicate the need for further evaluation.

If you’ve noticed changes that are not improving or do not seem typical for you, it may be time to have them assessed. Our team is here to help guide you 💙

If your skincare suddenly isn’t working like it used to… it might not be the product.

Most people don’t realize this, but a lot of routine issues come from what’s already sitting on your counter.

Expired products.
Too many active ingredients layered together.
Products that burn or sting (and you keep using anyway).
Even dirty brushes and applicators.

Before you spend money trying something new, take a closer look at what you already have.

A better routine doesn’t always start with adding more…
it starts with removing what’s not helping your skin.

If you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to start, we can help you simplify and build a routine that actually works for your skin.

If your skin is always red, irritated, or breaking out… it might not be what you think.

Rosacea is often mistaken for sensitive skin or acne, but there are actually four different types, and many people experience a combination.

That’s why treatments don’t always work the way you expect.

The first step is understanding what your skin is actually dealing with so you can treat it the right way.

If this sounds familiar, we’re here to help.

If your skin constantly feels red or irritated, it may not be “sensitive skin.”
In many cases, ongoing redness can be a sign of rosacea or underlying inflammation, not just a reaction to products.

At Midstate Skin Institute, we see this often. The issue isn’t always the skincare, it’s that the root cause hasn’t been properly identified.

The good news is, with the right diagnosis, there are ways to calm irritation, reduce redness, and improve your skin long-term.

If this sounds familiar, it may be time to take a closer look.

Not seeing results from your skincare?

It’s not always about using more products. It’s about understanding what your skin actually needs.

Amelia takes a results-driven approach, focusing on the root of your concerns, not just what’s visible on the surface. Because when your skin is treated correctly, it responds differently.

Clearer. Calmer. Healthier.

If you’ve ever felt unsure or nervous coming in, you’re not alone.

The way you’re cared for matters just as much as the treatment itself.

In this video, Amelia shares what drew her into this field, the role she plays in each patient’s experience, and the moments that remind her why this work matters.

It’s this level of intention and connection that defines the experience at MidState.

A spot that won’t heal, keeps scabbing, or continues to grow should never be ignored.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is one of the most common types of skin cancer and often develops in areas with long-term sun exposure.

In select cases, dermatologists may treat SCC using intralesional fluorouracil (IL-5FU), a medication injected directly into the lesion to destroy abnormal cancer cells.

Save this post to remember these warning signs:

• A sore that won’t heal
• A scaly or crusted bump
• A thick or rough patch of skin
• A lesion that continues to grow

When caught early, SCC is highly treatable.
If you notice a new, changing, or non-healing spot, schedule a dermatology skin exam.
