1-800-BOARDUP of Philadelphia is asking our community to take action in support of the 2026 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

This weekend is more than an event — it is a time to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and to stand beside the families they left behind. It is critical that this memorial takes place at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, where their legacy is permanently honored.

We are calling on our first responder partners, community leaders, and supporters across our region to make their voices heard.

We would like to wish our Chief/President/Co-Founder Good Luck at his new job as a Director of Emergency Services for 1-800 BuildUp for the Ocala/Gainesville/Levy/Cotrus/Villages/Dixie/Hernando/Pasco Areas. He will continue operate as our Chief/President, but now he will take an additional role as 1-800 BuildUp new Director of Emergency Services to help provide services for Firefighters in the region and Victim assistance to those who need help in their of need due to fire, flood, or other emergency situations.

Tonight, our Deputy Chief/Vice President/Co-founder and Captain of Ocala Fire Rescue, Joe Talley, and our friend Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Trooper Lieutenant Michael D. Reilly, also known as Doc Trooper, alongside other members of Ocala Fire Rescue Station 4 B Shift Members, an Ocala Police Officer, and members of an Ocala City Utility Crew, all received a Life Saving Award from HCA Hospital of Ocala and the Mayor's Coin of the City of Ocala. Congratulations to all of them.

On Friday November 14th, Chief Matychak along with his wife and his son traveled to Bradford/Hartford Connecticut to pick up a 2010 Chevy 4500 Duramax Ambulance donated by Best Friend s for Life Animal Rescue, President Anthony Bagliore. We will converting this Ambulance into a Mobile Field Command Post. We will post plenty of before and after pictures of the project.
