Last week, we came together for one cause, in support of The Shores' PB&J Project to help feed those in need. 😃

With the helping hands of our residents, teammates, and volunteers from The Shores, Ocean City Queens, Thrivent, and St. John Lutheran Church, we made close to 300 PB&J sandwiches to support two incredible nonprofits: Angels in Motion - Atlantic County and The Branches Outreach. These local organizations serve our underserved neighbors with dignity, hope, and care.

From spreading peanut butter to packing each bag with purpose, every volunteer played a part in making a real impact in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated! ❤️

We were proud to represent The Shores at the 2025 South Jersey Walk to End Alzheimer’s this past weekend!

Our very own "Team Tapestries" joined many others from around our area to raise awareness and show support for all those touched by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Each year, this is always a highlight for our team because it reminds us how powerful our community can be when we come together in strength and unity for such an important cause. 💜

Our Tapestries Open House was a wonderful success! We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate the future of memory care at The Shores.

Our guests enjoyed champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and live music in our beautiful courtyard, while also having the chance to tour The Shores' newly upgraded Tapestries Memory Care neighborhood.

The evening also featured an insightful presentation from UMC's VP of Program Excellence, Pam Garofolo, who shared expert perspectives on the future of senior living.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends from HomeWorks, a UMC Service for their sponsorship and to all of our incredible teammates for their hard work and dedication in making this special event possible! ☺️

Along with our partners Thrivent and the Stockton Center on Successful Aging, we brought a little bit of California living to The Shores as part of our ongoing Blue Zones journey! 🏄

This month, our focus was on Loma Linda, California, one of the original Blue Zones, places around the world where people live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Residents and guests learned about the unique habits and community values that contribute to Loma Linda’s longevity while enjoying a fresh, flavorful menu inspired by the region, prepared by our talented Dining Services Team.

It was truly a fun, educational, and delicious way to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Blue Zones lifestyle right here at The Shores. 😄

Moving beyond the traditional quantitative markers of senior healthcare, Mark will emphasize the importance of qualitative aspects of quality of life. He will explore how both traditional and unexpected partners can collaborate with senior living providers to reframe aging as positive, natural experience. By taking a “hopeful contrarian” approach to questioning and re-examining traditional methods, this presentation will chart a course towards innovative practices that challenge stereotypes and create and environment where aspiration for life can continue at any age.
