I do understand that sometimes people cannot see themselves at a weight I set, but I see it, and I have been doing this successfully for a very long time. My job is not to get you to a weight that you want to be if that weight is still overweight; itโ€™s not to get you to the โ€œslimmest Iโ€™ve ever beenโ€ if that is still overweight. My job is to get you to the weight I know you must be โ€” so I can put you through stabilization and maintenance programs to give you the best chance of never being overweight again. If you have 50 pounds to lose but only want to lose 30, this is not the program for you.

The process of changing oneโ€™s eating and lifestyle habits must include the process of owning up to why you are where you are, taking responsibility for your actions, and taking the โ€œvictimโ€ and โ€œblameโ€ cards out of your deck. Both those cards donโ€™t โ€œplayโ€ well with me. And if you canโ€™t handle hearing โ€œCut the crapโ€ when itโ€™s relevant, youโ€™re not the right client for me.

My experience is that those who think they โ€œknow it allโ€ when it comes to weight loss simply because theyโ€™ve been dieting forever are also those who are unwilling to be open-minded about a new way of doing things. Theyโ€™re full of โ€œI canโ€™tsโ€ and โ€œI wonโ€™tsโ€ in terms of what they canโ€™t do and/or wonโ€™t eat or drink (excluding allergies and medical issues, of course), or wonโ€™t give up. Theyโ€™ll throw the money at me and think that because they โ€œjoinedโ€ the program, thatโ€™s the same as โ€œdoingโ€ the program. If this is you, save your money. This is the wrong program for you.

Your liver is a powerhouse: metabolism control, protein production, detoxificationโ€”part of the core GI team with stomach, intestines, gallbladder, and pancreas.

Do you deliberately do things to harm them?

If they do things to harm themselves, do you encourage and support those behaviors?

Well, there are many parents who claim they are โ€œbest friendsโ€ with their kids.

I meet them on a regular basis.

They are overweight or obese.

Their children are overweight or obese.

So, my question to them is:

"Please tell me what exactly is โ€œbestโ€ about giving your child obesity?"

Recognize the role and influence your obesity plays in the health and habits of your kids.
