There are certainly diets with whom you can definitely do cheap (and fast) in the short-term . . . and then cheap (and fast) again and again and again. So, โ€œcheapโ€ becomes very expensive over time, and โ€œfastโ€ actually becomes โ€œneverโ€.

I do understand that sometimes people cannot see themselves at a weight I set, but I see it, and I have been doing this successfully for a very long time. My job is not to get you to a weight that you want to be if that weight is still overweight; itโ€™s not to get you to the โ€œslimmest Iโ€™ve ever beenโ€ if that is still overweight. My job is to get you to the weight I know you must be โ€” so I can put you through stabilization and maintenance programs to give you the best chance of never being overweight again. If you have 50 pounds to lose but only want to lose 30, this is not the program for you.

The process of changing oneโ€™s eating and lifestyle habits must include the process of owning up to why you are where you are, taking responsibility for your actions, and taking the โ€œvictimโ€ and โ€œblameโ€ cards out of your deck. Both those cards donโ€™t โ€œplayโ€ well with me. And if you canโ€™t handle hearing โ€œCut the crapโ€ when itโ€™s relevant, youโ€™re not the right client for me.

My experience is that those who think they โ€œknow it allโ€ when it comes to weight loss simply because theyโ€™ve been dieting forever are also those who are unwilling to be open-minded about a new way of doing things. Theyโ€™re full of โ€œI canโ€™tsโ€ and โ€œI wonโ€™tsโ€ in terms of what they canโ€™t do and/or wonโ€™t eat or drink (excluding allergies and medical issues, of course), or wonโ€™t give up. Theyโ€™ll throw the money at me and think that because they โ€œjoinedโ€ the program, thatโ€™s the same as โ€œdoingโ€ the program. If this is you, save your money. This is the wrong program for you.

๐ƒ๐จ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ ๐ฐ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ'๐ซ๐ž ๐ ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ ?

Imagine yourself in your car.

Youโ€™re driving down a long, barren road with flat empty fields on both sides.

Youโ€™ve been driving for many hours.

Youโ€™ve no idea where youโ€™re headed.

You donโ€™t know if youโ€™ll ever reach your destination because you never decided where youโ€™re going.

Youโ€™re just driving with no plan.

No map.

Initially, youโ€™re enjoying the feeling: windows open, wind in your hair, and the freedom of the open road.

Eventually, you begin to get frustrated, stressed, and anxious by the uncertainty of not knowing where you are going.

Clearly, just getting busy (putting yourself in your car) and moving in any direction (driving forward) isnโ€™t enough. It will take you somewhere, anywhere other than where you currently are, but is that what you really want?

Life โ€“ both personally and professionally โ€“ is the same.

You must set a destination to reach it. If you donโ€™t, you will eventually run out of gas along the side of the road.

And when you run out of gas, will that destination be a better place to be โ€” or a place you want to be?

If you aren't setting a destination for your weight loss, fitness and health goals, how will you be able to chart the path that will get you there, measure your progress, or know when youโ€™ve arrived?

But when you do choose your destinationโ€”when you decide exactly where you want to go and who you want to becomeโ€”the road transforms.

The same road that once felt endless and empty now has meaning with every mile. The wind in your hair becomes the rush of progress. The horizon starts pulling you forward instead of mocking you.

And one day, sooner than you think, youโ€™ll look up and realize โ€ฆ youโ€™re not just driving anymore. Youโ€™ve arrived. Stronger. Healthier. Prouder. More confident. More alive than ever.

I came across these pictures of the library at the Benedictine Monastery of Admont in Austria. "Breathtaking" and "exquisite" and "unbelievable" are understatements, wouldn't you say? I just had to share them. If time and money were not of consideration, I would visit this and every other fabulous library in the world.

I'm a voracious reader, and have my own library at home, floor to ceiling book cases categorized by the subjects I read. It's my "she shed" . . . and I am in heaven in that room.

It appears gradually with thicker and dark, velvety patches of skin in body creases and folds, usually on the sides and back of the neck, in armpits, elbow pits and groin. It can be found on other parts of the body, including the face, chest, elbows, knees, and knuckles.

Acanthosis nigricans is most commonly caused by high blood insulin levels, a condition called ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘ ๐‘ข๐‘™๐‘–๐‘› ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘’. Insulin resistance is seen in people who are overweight or obese and makes them more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. It is also associated with other endocrine conditions, such as polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS).

If youโ€™re overweight or obese, youโ€™re probably unhappy about that.

You may already have health issues or can look forward to them in the future.

Thereโ€™s a very good chance youโ€™ve curtailed some or all the activities youโ€™d like to enjoy and perhaps once did.

You canโ€™t wear the clothes you would like to buy; instead, you must settle for clothes you can find that fit.

Given that these are just a few of the pitfalls of over-weight and obesity, can you possibly be on the right path?

Are you making an effort to achieve a weight loss goal?

If so, are you doing it in a manner that makes you happy? . . . one thatโ€™s healthy and that you can live with for the rest of your life.

Are you handling your responsibilities of planning your daily menus, appropriate grocery shopping, using portion control, packing healthy meals and snacks when you leave home for the day?

Are you moving ๐˜๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ what you want, or ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ from what you want?
