Christmas Eve is only a few days away, and Lucy is taking her duties as an ASC Christmas elf very seriously! She’s keeping the presents under the tree safe and making sure all the ornaments are sparkling and bright…okay, she’s also waiting patiently for a Christmas treat. Many things can be true at once. 🎄🐾

This month’s standout star is Alicia — one of our OG front desk heroes and one of the sweet smiles behind so many of your phone calls. 📞💛
Alicia began her journey with a Health Science degree from Brooklyn College, not yet realizing that her calling wasn’t in human medicine at all—it was right here in veterinary medicine. And we’re so grateful she found her way to us!
What Alicia adores most about her role is being able to help not only the animals, but also the people who love them. She says, “Being able to reassure owners with confidence that ASC will take the best care of their beloved animals brings me so much joy.”
For nearly four years, Alicia has been the definition of a team player, treating her coworkers like a second family.
But her greatest challenge? Balancing long shifts with being a full-time superhero mom. After a 13-hour day, she still goes home to give all she has to her family. And on top of being an incredible mom and an essential part of keeping our hospital running—because truly, we couldn’t function without our reception team—Alicia dreams of owning her own food truck someday. (If her cooking is anything like her customer care, we’ll be first in line.)
Alicia says, “We see so many pets and get to witness lots of happy endings. Nothing beats when a client remembers you by name. It makes everything worth it when you receive that warm ‘thank you.’ The donuts aren’t bad either.”
Alicia, thank you for your heart, your dedication, and the brightness you bring to ASC every single day. 💙🐾

Now through December 18th, we’re collecting donations for Toys for Tots! 🎁✨
Help us spread joy this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Every small act of kindness makes a big difference.
You can drop your gifts in the donation box located in our lobby. Thank you for helping us share the magic of the season! ❤️🎄

One thing about us—we get cuteness aggression to the max.
Just look at our assistant Taty helping out this precious rescue bulldog…she simply could not resist smushing his big, adorable face and expressing her very intense (and very relatable) love for him.
Some dogs just bring out the “I need to squeeze you!!” energy—and we regret nothing. 🐶🤭

A very happy Thanksgiving from our ASC family to yours! 🧡 🦃
We are endlessly grateful for our dedicated team, the clients who put their trust in us, the support of our veterinary community, and the privilege of making a difference in the lives of the incredible animals we treat—and the families who love them.
What are you thankful for today?

You know what they say — happy patient, happy life. Keep things light when you can, take a moment to laugh, and never pass up the chance for a good belly rub. It makes the workday better for everyone. 🐾😄 . . . . .

It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.
Have questions? We’re always here to help!

Have you heard? Our veterinary assistant, Shaniqua, has a soft spot for puppies who haven’t grown into their ears yet. That’s what makes this little one so special after all! 🐶
