The incredible triumphs of veterinary medicine would not be possible without the intelligent, strong, and resilient women who help carry this field forward every single day. 💖

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate the women who paved the way—allowing the women of today to be their bravest, most brilliant selves. Their courage, determination, and passion opened doors for generations of veterinary professionals to follow.

To the women of veterinary medicine: thank you for the love and dedication you pour into your craft, for the countless lives you help save, and for inspiring young women who dream of becoming doctors, veterinary nurses, zoologists, marine biologists, researchers, hospital managers, rescuers, rehabilitators, animal caretakers—and so much more. The possibilities are endless because of you. 🐾

This is the kind of love the rescues we meet have been waiting for. ✨

Our whole team couldn’t keep our paws off Jesse, a rescue from Posh Pets who came to us for her spay procedure. From prepping her for surgery to letting her curl up on our laps while she recovered, Jesse soaked up every bit of love we had to give.

We hope the next arms Jesse runs into are just as warm, welcoming, and loving as she deserves. 💕

Joey decided “If I fits, I sits,” and we fully support his determination. After all, he is a small boy at heart. 💛

Leave it to our incredible technicians like Darrin and Christina to always go the extra mile—especially for our shy patients—to make them feel right at home. 💜🐾

A perfect example of what ASC love looks like, our team made sure that during her three-day stay following a thoracotomy, “Rush” was comfortable, pain-free, and well-fed. This special girl needed a little extra attention, and she certainly received it every step of the way.

We’re wishing this brave girl the very best in her continued recovery. ✨

Our LVT Sara soaked up plenty of snuggles from her buddy Hubble while recovering him after knee surgery. Some say the real secret to a speedy recovery is a kiss on the forehead… and if that’s true, we’re pretty sure Hubble will be back to running laps around the yard in no time! 😋💕

We often have the privilege of making feline friends who’ve been given a second chance at life thanks to the tireless work of rescue organizations that get these babies off the streets and into loving homes. 🐱💙

From providing free spays and neuters at our Snip & Fix for Rescues events, to performing complex fracture repairs, or nursing sick and abandoned kittens back to health, we’re incredibly grateful for every opportunity to cross paths with these resilient cats and give them the care they deserve.

On International Rescue Cat Day, we encourage you to consider opening your heart and home to an animal in need. The love you give will come back to you tenfold. 🐾

Zoey from Ruff House Rescue was thrilled to make some new friends when she came to us for sedated X-rays. With a personality that can make you laugh just as quickly as it makes you melt, we were so glad our paths crossed, even if she didn’t stay for surgery. Good luck to you, Zoey, and thanks for stopping by to say hi! 🤗

Thank you to Black veterinary professionals for the impact you make on this field every single day. 💙

In a profession where diversity is overwhelmingly lacking, we are deeply grateful for your presence, your passion, your brilliance, your perseverance, and your dedication to the animals you treat. Your work not only saves lives but also helps create a more compassionate future for veterinary medicine—one where young people of color can see themselves reflected and aspire to become veterinarians, nurses, and lifesavers.

At Animal Surgical Center, we are proud to be a part of a team that reflects many different backgrounds and perspectives, a diversity that makes us stronger, more empathetic caregivers, and a better support system for the pets and families we serve.

We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and we thank you for all that you do. 🐾

February is Spay and Neuter Awareness Month, and we’re here to remind you just how important spaying and neutering your pets truly is—not only for their health and longevity, but for the community as a whole.

Spaying and neutering help prevent accidental breeding, overpopulation, and animal homelessness. It supports rescue organizations that work around the clock to save animals and prepare them for adoption, giving more pets the chance at the loving homes they deserve.

Medically, spaying and neutering offer major health benefits. It prevents testicular cancer and life-threatening uterine infections, reduces the risk of enlarged prostate glands, and lowers the chances of mammary tumors and ovarian cancer—ultimately increasing your pet’s life expectancy.

Do your part. Spay and neuter your pets, support your local rescue organizations, and share this message with fellow pet owners. You could save a life—your own pet’s included. 🐾💙
