At the Global Specialty Lens Symposium – Past, Present, and Future
2026 has just begun, and I’ve already attended my first conference! Over 25 years ago, I completed my residency with the legendary Pat Caroline at Pacific University College of Optometry (PUCO). Since then, I’ve had the privilege of learning and educating at this incredible meeting for more than a decade.
Every year, I meet so many talented and passionate optometrists who are dedicated to changing patients’ lives for the better. It’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come and how much innovation continues to shape our field.
A special shout-out to Dr. Fujimoto, the current contact lens professor at PUCO, and to all the amazing students who have grown into outstanding doctors as we share ideas and advance specialty contact lens care.
I’m especially proud of my very first student, Dr. Jeor, who chose to pursue a contact lens residency after her externship at Coan Eye Care—and now she’s presenting her very first poster at GSLS 2026!
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead and continuing to make a difference for our patients. Looking forward to an amazing 2026!
