🌟 Developmental Milestone Monday 🌟

Every week brings new moments of discovery, and today we’re celebrating the incredible growth we see in our children.

From the tiniest steps to the biggest breakthroughs, progress shows up in so many beautiful ways. Let’s take a look at 2-4 Weeks

Infant Stimulation:
-Your child is growing at an enormous rate.
-Your child’s brain is also growing and developing rapidly.
-Reading books helps stimulate your baby’s brain development.
-Talking to your baby supports early language skills.
-Singing provides comfort while encouraging cognitive growth.

Development:
-Your baby is dependent on you for total care.
-He/She can briefly lift his/her head off your shoulder.
-He/She may begin to follow objects or faces with his/her eyes to midline.

🌟 Nurse Spotlight: Beth🌟

We’re excited to highlight one of our wonderful nurses, Beth!

Beth graduated from Waukesha County Technical College with her nursing degree in May of 2024. Her experience with children includes teaching piano, babysitting, and teaching in children’s classes at her church. She has always enjoyed being with kids and is excited to grow her nursing experience in this area.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, paddle boarding, traveling, cooking, playing piano, attending baseball games, and playing volleyball. She has had the privilege of going on mission trips to Mexico, Brazil, and Guyana, and it is her desire to use her nursing skills to serve on more trips in the future.

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour this Sunday for Daylight Saving Time. We may lose an hour of sleep, but brighter evenings are on the way!

If your child seems extra sleepy or off their routine, that’s normal — little bodies need a few days to adjust.

💤 Quick tips for smoother sleep:
• Shift bedtime earlier by 10–15 minutes leading up to the change
• Stick to your usual bedtime routine
• Get outside in morning light
• Power down screens before bed

Potty training is a big milestone, and a little fun can make a huge difference. Today’s reminders for families:

🔎Look for readiness signs like staying dry longer, showing interest in the bathroom, or wanting to be more independent.

🙌Keep routines consistent, but don’t stress over setbacks. They’re completely normal.

✨Provider Spotlight: Dr. Moyer✨

We are pleased to highlight the pediatrician who started it all: Dr. Gregory Moyer!

Dr. Moyer is a graduate of the Medical School at The Medical College of Wisconsin, completed a residency with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin after medical school, and opened up Lake Country Pediatrics just one year later, in 1997.

Passionate about providing tailored care to our families, Dr. Moyer believes that the best way to ensure healthy growth and development is through regular checkups. “Ideally, I recognize potential issues during preventative visits and guide my patients on how to avoid problems down the road of childhood and adulthood.”

✨Nurse Spotlight: Amber! ✨

We're excited to spotlight one of our wonderful nurses, Amber!

Amber started working at Lake Country Pediatrics, S.C. in May 2022. She went to school for Early Childhood Education at Concordia University of Wisconsin. She worked at the Kohl’s Corporate office at their Child Development Center for almost 10 years as a Toddler Room teacher. When the COVID pandemic hit, she took the opportunity to obtain her CNA license through the emergency pandemic training. While doing the training she was working at a nursing home since she was furloughed from the childcare center position. After completing CNA training, she transitioned to a new nursing home and completed her Medication Technician certification. She then came to Lake Country Pediatrics, S.C. and loves working here. For her, it is the best of both careers as she still gets to work with children every day and she is expanding her knowledge in the medical field. To continue my knowledge and career, she is currently in school to obtain her nursing degree.

Outside of work she loves spending time with my family, especially her son. They enjoy being outside, riding bikes, playing catch, and enjoying their time together. She looks forward to watching the kids grow that come to Lake Country Pediatrics, S.C. and maintaining relationships with families that she works with.

How to Complete Your Forms
You may now submit your forms using any of the following options:
• Complete your patient history through MyChart
• Fill out the PDF forms and email them to: oconomowoc@lcped.com or delafield@lcped.com
• Print the forms and bring them with you to your appointment
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete forms in the office
