Meet Dr. Abigail Patterson, one of our incredible pediatricians, who sees patients at our Oconomowoc and Delafield clinics.

Dr. Patterson grew up in Brookfield, WI and attended Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. She majored in Biology at Loyola University Chicago and went on to study medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She wanted to see medicine in a different part of the country and thus completed pediatric residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Patterson stayed on as a faculty member in the newborn nursery, seeing healthy babies and teaching medical students and residents. During this time, she became an IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) to help promote breastfeeding and solve breastfeeding problems. Dr. Patterson loves teaching and was able to hone her teaching skills as she taught both learners and families.

Dr. Patterson returned to Wisconsin in 2024 to be closer to family as her young family grows. She chose to join Lake Country Pediatrics as she believes the independent practice will allow her to partner with families and provide the very best care for their children.

Safer Internet Day: The AAP’s 5 C’s of Media Use 💻📱👧👦
Technology is a big part of kids’ lives — and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) encourages families to focus on the “5 C’s” to help kids stay safe and healthy online.
🔎 Child – Every child is different. Consider your child’s age, personality, development, and sensitivities when choosing media.
📺 Content – What are they watching, playing, or scrolling? Aim for age-appropriate, educational, and positive content.
🕒 Calm – Notice how screens affect your child’s mood and sleep. Overtired, overstimulated kids may need less screen time and more unplugged breaks.
📍 Crowding Out – Media shouldn’t replace sleep, outdoor play, reading, or family time. Balance is key!
💬 Communication – Talk often about online safety, digital kindness, and what to do if something makes them uncomfortable.
There’s no “perfect” number of minutes — but staying involved and setting healthy limits makes a big difference ❤️

🌟 Nurse Spotlight: Jodi 🌟

We’re excited to highlight one of our wonderful nurses, Jodi!

She attended Moraine Park Technical College and became an LPN in 2007. She has worked in assisted living, nursing homes, and a correctional facility as a nurse before joining the team at Lake Country Pediatrics, S.C. in October 2023. Pediatrics is a new chapter in her nursing journey, where she continues to learn and grow every day. She loves seeing little faces daily and watching patients grow over time.

She is married and a mom of two adult children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, relaxing around campfires at her family cabin in Hatfield, and spending as much time as possible with friends and family.

We’re grateful to have Jodi on our team and even more grateful for the care she provides to our families every day. 💙

Meet Myra Bell, DNP, one of our amazing providers, who focuses on tailoring each care plan to meet the unique needs of each child and each family she serves. Myra is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and has been a Wisconsinite her entire life. Myra shares that she is very happy that she and her husband are able to raise their 5 children here. Myra enjoys caring for children and loves watching them grow.

Myra completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree through the UW – Madison School of Nursing in 2021 and received her board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care shortly thereafter. Her PNP training included primary and specialty care clinics as well as a fellowship with the Pediatric Neurology Department at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. Her clinical background also includes 17 years of nursing experience split between the emergency department and a pediatric specialty clinic.
