Honoring Our Heroes This Veterans Day
Today, we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, honor, and selflessness. Veterans Day reminds us of the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms and the importance of expressing gratitude to those who have served.
At Oconto, we are especially proud to honor our staff and residents who bravely answered that call:
Don Kuhr – United States Army, 2 years; served as a Medevac, trained at Fort Rucker, transferred to Fort Bragg, and served in Vietnam and Saigon
Larry Weber – United States Marine Corps, 2 years; base nurse, stationed at Pearl Harbor and La June
Steven Bergstrom – United States Navy, 4 years; served 1 year in Grand Turk, 6 months on aircraft carrier Nimitz, transferred to LST Saginaw County as engineman
Bryan McDougal – United States Army Staff Sergeant, 24 years; stationed in Germany, Korea, Fort Hood, Fort Stewart, Fort Drum, and served in 1st Gulf War, Somali War, Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom
We thank you for your service, dedication, and the continued compassion you show every day!
