Maternal Support Services at Medical Center Hospital’s Center for Women and Infants have received a very generous donation from SheTribe at Crossroads Church and Key West Mattress Center. In an effort to provide improved care for patients experiencing infant loss, the Maternal Support Services team have created a home-like bereavement room with a Queen sized bed and family seating.
The staff at MCH recognize that there is a growing need in our community to better support women and their families during this difficult time.
2 cuddle cots were donated by the SheTribe for the maternal child and NICU units at MCH. These cuddle cots provide thermoregulation to extend the amount of time families can spend with their infant.
Our team leads Meagan Parker, Amanda Bartlett, and Kayla Milner (not pictured) share that this is a huge step for our community. Maternal support is becoming a large focus nationwide for women experiencing birth trauma and loss. Everything available to patients in this room was developed or created from stories or suggestions from patients in our own community who have experienced the loss of a child.
We would also like to thank Hope Mommies, Hearts Abide, Hunters Hope, and Ryan’s Hope for their continued donations and support for our patients.
