Rosalie Zugg

Our mother went home to be with Jesus on November 7, 2025. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Thank you to all who provided care; Dr. Kubacak, Hospice of Midland, and especially Tina Hurlburt who was with her daily in her last months. We give special thanks to Jim and Michelle for making space in their home and providing care in her last days. It has been a blessing to know she was surrounded by love these last few years.

Rose Zugg was born on June 24, 1939, in Dalhart, Texas, to Elias and Albertha Zielke. After graduating from Texline High School, she married Tommy Jack Gross on May 24, 1957, and they were together until his passing. She later married James Roy Zugg, Sr. On November 22, 1963. She is the proud mother of three children: Deborah, James Jr., and Cavin, along with eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Rose and James built their life together in Odessa, Texas, where she continued to call home even after his passing on March 17, 1998.

Mom lived all 86 years of her life to the fullest. She graduated as valedictorian and was active in many school activities. After marrying James, they built their dream home and founded Southwest Service Company. When the kids were young, their home was filled with a variety of animals including beef and milk cows, chickens, guineas, and even a beehive. Her favorite of all the animals was her donkey, Bruce.

Mom kept a garden most years and loved fresh fruits and vegetables. She was a true entrepreneur and loved a good deal, whether at the grocery store, buying property, or bartering at garage sales. She would take advantage of triple-coupon days and could fill a basket of groceries for only five dollars, to the amazement of everyone around her. Over the years, she slowly bought many lots on 81st Street, always asking, “How much would they want for that?” She loved to make a deal.

Mom was a breast cancer survivor, remaining cancer-free for 27 years. She was active with the Cancer Society and participated in many local events. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she completed numerous Kay Arthur Bible Studies, helped with children’s ministries, and volunteered every summer in Vacation Bible School. Mom had a very active social life from volunteering at the Ector County Library, joining Busy Hands and exercising or painting at the Senior Center. If she wasn’t out and about she was probably at home reading or crocheting.

One of the many highlights of Mom’s life was her love of travel. In their younger years, she and Dad took their camper to Las Vegas, California to see the Redwoods, Louisiana, and their land in Big Bend. She took countless trips to Six Flags with her kids and grandkids. Deborah and Mom traveled overseas to London, which was her first trip abroad. She also journeyed to the Holy Land with Cavin, where her favorite experience was visiting the Wailing Wall and rafting down the Jordan River.

She rode in a hot air balloon in Albuquerque, fished for salmon in Alaska, and took a scenic train ride through Colorado with her grandchildren Amber and James, and her son Cavin. Mom traveled yearly with her dear friend Mary to Las Vegas and took cross- country road trips with her sister Joan. She and Cavin drove to North Dakota to visit her grandkids Tyler, Amber, and Blake, stopping at Mount Rushmore along the way. She loved traveling with Nicky and Deborah all over Texas to watch Natalie play volleyball, and she regularly went to Dallas to see her great grandkids play basketball.

Mom and her grandson, Nicholas, attended at least 15 concerts together. Her last trip was to San Antonio for a Woodmen of the World event with her sons Jim and Cavin and grandson James. She never said no to an adventure.

There are only so many memories we can fit on this page, but each of us will cherish the time we had with her and the countless memories we made together.

Rose is survived by her children, Deborah Cook and husband Nicky, James Zugg Jr., and wife Michelle, and Cavin Zugg and wife Dianne.

Her grandchildren are Nicole (Tim), Nicholas, Natalie (Austin), James, Jeremy (Kara), Blake, Tyler (Emily), and Amber (Bryce).

Her great-grandchildren are Trinity, Jonathan, Josiah, Eleanore Rose, Bristol, Brecklyn, Briley, Cason, Easton, Waylon, Walker, and Wyatt.

She is also survived by her siblings, Joan Lackey, Irene Miller, Donald Zielke, and Timmy Zielke, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark Douglas House

Mark Douglas House, 61, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and love that touched countless lives.

Born on December 10, 1963, in Snyder, Texas, Mark was the son of Patsy House and the late Milton House. From an early age, he demonstrated a natural ability for mechanics and problem-solving skills that would define his professional life and personal passions.

Mark dedicated 28 years of his career to the pumping unit industry, working with Lufkin and Weatherford. His deep understanding of mechanical systems and his analytical mind made him a valued asset in the field. In his later years, he brought those same talents to R***r Properties as a pumper, where he continued to apply his expertise with diligence and pride.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mark was known for his unwavering faith and service to others. For over 30 years, he was a devoted member of Bible Centered Fellowship. There he served as a youth leader and trustee but most importantly as a humble servant. A one God believer who lived in obedience to the plan of salvation found in Acts 2:38, Mark was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. He walked faithfully by the Word of God throughout his life.

Mark’s family was the center of his world. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sonja House; sons Hayden House and Evan House along with Evan’s wife Azure House; mother Patsy House; sister Terri Shavers and her husband Mike Shavers; brother Don House and his wife Kari House; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who were blessed by his presence.

A man of many interests and boundless energy, Mark found joy in gardening, working at his mothers farm, tackling handy projects around the house and church, and exploring the Texas Hill Country with his wife Sonja. He had a deep appreciation for old Westerns and cherished time spent at church or with family. Whether enjoying West Texas Mexican food or his love of honey and ice cream, Mark embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm. He loved kayaking, fishing, jet skiing, fast cars, lifted vehicles and above all else being surrounded by those he loved most. His pets were also dear companions who brought him great comfort.

Those who knew Mark remember him as hard-working, loyal and honest man whose giving spirit was matched only by his sense of humor. Analytical yet joyful; mechanically inclined yet deeply spiritual; friendly yet humble he embodied servant leadership in every aspect of life. A mighty man of valor indeed.

Mark Douglas House was thoroughly loved and will be thoroughly missed by many whose lives were enriched by his presence. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, following a burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket will be opened before service starts. Once service starts casket will be closed and remain closed.

Jonathan Andrew Ramos

Jonathan Andrew Ramos, 32, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on November 19, 1992, in Odessa, where he spent most of his life surrounded by family, friends, and the music that became the rhythm of his soul.

Jonathan had a heart that felt everything deeply. Love, laughter, and sometimes pain. From a young age, it was clear he was gifted beyond measure. Whether it was music, sports, or anything he set his mind to, Jonathan gave it his all. Behind the drum set, he was unstoppable, the heartbeat of every song and every room. Drumming wasn’t just something he did; it was who he was. It was how he spoke when words weren’t enough.

He loved the Duke Blue Devils, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Stars with a passion only he could bring. He knew every stat, every play, every detail because Jonathan remembered everything. He was the family historian, the storyteller, the one who could make you laugh just by bringing up an old memory you had long forgotten.

Jonathan was the baby of the family, but he carried a wisdom and tenderness that grounded everyone around him. He was the glue that held everyone close. He called every day, not out of routine but out of love. He needed to know everyone was okay, and he needed you to know that he cared. He adored his niece and nephews, and they adored their Tio Jon with that same fierce, unconditional love.

He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Hermosillo, and her husband, Bivian Hermosillo; his father, Roy Ramos; his sister, Erika Craig and husband, Jeremy, and their children, Emily and Aiden; and his brother, Roy Zachary Ramos and wife, Chrissy, and their children, Ryan and Andrew.

Pallbearers are Frank Mijares, Ruben Perez, Adam Fuentes, Spencer Carrasco, Milky Cervera, and Buzzy Abalos.

He was welcomed into Heaven by loved ones who went before him. Though his faith journey had its struggles, Jonathan left this world with his heart turned toward God, finding the peace, healing, and light that his soul longed for.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary from 6:00–8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by the burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

Jonathan’s rhythm will live on in the music he loved, in the laughter of his family, and in the countless hearts he touched just by being himself.

“The beat goes on, and your song plays forever in us.” 🤍

May Bell lived out her final few years in San Angelo, Texas and was lovingly cared for by the staff of Baycrest Senior Living and her granddaughter, Julie. Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff members of Baycrest for the dedication and phenomenal care you provided to May Bell over the past four years. To Christian, May Bell’s favorite caretaker, thank you for treating May Bell as family. She loved you very much. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nichole and staff of Concho Hearts Hospice of San Angelo for the beautiful way you loved and supported May Bell in her last days here with us.

To our Julie, the Bible calls each of us to be a “good and faithful servant.” It was you who knew that San Angelo would be the right place for Grandma in her final years. You took such special care of her, giving your time and your energy, while creating special moments along the way. Your beautiful pictures and videos kept our family updated, and we will cherish those always. Grandma had everything she needed…including the absolute best collection of Hey Dude shoes. We are forever grateful! You truly are a “good and faithful servant” to whom our Lord will most certainly one day say, “well done.”

May Bell “Grandma” Brown lived a full and beautiful life. She was a loyal friend to those who knew her and always looked for the good in people. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to those who were blessed to call her theirs. But most importantly, she was an amazing human who reminded us always to be kind to each other. She will be forever missed here on earth, but we know she is rejoicing now in the arms of Jesus.
