Happy ! Today, we celebrate the people who’ve been by our side through it all: the good, the embarrassing, and all the things in between.

As our brothers and sisters get older and start navigating Medicare, one of the best things we can do is show up for them the way they’ve always shown up for us. Whether it’s helping them understand their coverage options, sitting with them at an appointment, or just being a calm voice or a listening ear when the paperwork feels overwhelming. That’s what family is for.

Getting the right Medicare plan can make a huge difference in someone’s health and peace of mind. If your sibling is turning 65 or approaching their Medicare enrollment window, now is the perfect time to reach out and make sure they have the support they need.

And for the really tough Medicare questions, you don't have to do it alone. Your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers free, unbiased counseling from trained experts who can help sort through the details. Find your local SHIP at shiphelp.org.

One of the biggest questions people ask when enrolling in Medicare: Should I enroll in Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan? The best plan is the one that fits your health needs, your budget, and your lifestyle. Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage both have real advantages, but they work very differently. Understanding how each one works is the first step to finding the right fit for you.

You can contact your SHIP with any Medicare-related questions or concerns. SHIP counselors are federally funded to provide trusted, unbiased Medicare counseling at no cost to you. Find them at shiphelp.org
