🤔📝 maybe it was some sort of ending or of something not working out.. in other words, is there an area that you couldn’t understand why it didn’t work out that way, but now you’re glad it did?

Revisiting old “wounds” with gratitude can help them be stored differently in your brain, and can allow for new neural pathways to grow. 🌱❤️‍🩹

I let procrastination and avoidance win yesterday when it came to posting this weeks 👤 but better late than never! Still showing up!

If you ever deal with headaches, toothaches, bruxism, TMJ syndrome, sinus, or eyebrow pain, you might have some trigger points in your Temporalis.

A scalp massage with a little extra attention on these points will provide relief!

Who else loves a good scalp massage?!
It can help improve blood circulation it can help promote hair growth 👀
Some studies also suggest that it can even help enhance cognitive function and memory!

Take care of yourself and stay hydrated!

Time to 𝓉𝓊𝓃𝑒 𝒾𝓃 to your amazing self 📝
With it being November, I feel inquires around gratitude are fitting.
Gratitude journaling provides many benefits for your mental and physical health! Some ways being it increases happiness & overall well-being, reduces stress & anxiety, enhances resilience & self-esteem, can help lower blood pressure & improve immune function, and can even help with sleep and pain! Not to mention other benefits like improving social relationships, increased creativity & ability to problem solve, & enhances self-awareness.

With this question, maybe it’s one of your senses, features, abilities, etc.

have you taken the time to thank yourself / those parts of yourself for all that they/you do?!

In a society that can make you feel guilty for putting attention on self, remember that it is important to have a self to provide to and from - that knowing, loving, and taking care of thy self can help you better be able to show up for others as your full, core self. 🤍

This will probably be the only post like this with myself in it - it just felt fitting to do one with self in it with the inquiry having a little extra focus on self.

It’s 👤 !
Today we’re going to talk about the diaphragm. A large muscle that’s main function is to help you breathe, but it’s also involved with swallowing, vomiting, urination, and bowel movements, and it assists the lymphatic system. Another function is to help separate the thoracic and abdominal cavities.

Getting trigger points in this muscle can give chest pains, along with the pain that sometimes comes under the ribs when running that a lot of us are familiar with.

Being aware of your diaphragm and properly using it, as well as adding some massage can help you breathe better, which can help reduce stress in the body of itself, and can help prevent chest pains and can maybe even assist in panic attacks?
I recommend always going in a clock-wise direction when massaging the abdomen to help with proper digestion.

If you ever have any questions about any specific area or pain you deal with, feel free to reach out, and/or get yourself booked so we can better address specific issues with your tissues!

Have a good week, take care of yourself 🧡

Why do (or don’t) I think/believe/behave etc the way I do (or do) do? Why am I in the spaces/relationships I’m in? Why do I do the work that I do? So many avenues that prompt can go down. - to add with it, is it from love, or for love (or both)?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately…
Especially as I’ve been preparing to write and share my mission statement with my work, which has taken time to figure out what I want that to look like and what it truly means - figure out my own “why”.
It has been a journey, I tell you - being a human , and (more of) an introverted entrepreneur, while recovering from some deep grief, and just trying to be in more of some sort of flotation device in this wild river of life rather than feeling like I’m just straight up in the water. 🚣‍♀️🤠

Through it all though, I’ve been constantly reminded of why I continue to pursue this work and my dreams with it, and have learned so much along the way.

Ps Happy New moon 🌚

I’ve missed the last couple weeks due to things shifting in my life, and my attention and energy needing to be directed elsewhere, but I’m back!

Today’s muscle is gluteus minimus. This muscle helps you abduct (bring away from body) & medically rotate your leg, assists with hip flexion, and stabilizes the hips and pelvis.

I personally have dealt with getting trigger points in this muscle due to it being weak, which I’ve been learning how to strengthen and better support myself when I stand and work.

That reminds me.. sometimes we get trigger points/knots from overuse, but often it’s actually from underuse/ a weakness.

Remember If you ever do self massage at home, be aware that digging in deep right away will not fix the problem. It is important to warm up the muscle, and ease into it. Getting your parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest) activated will also aid in the process. You will feel a lot better that way and work it out more effectively.
It’s also wise to consult a professional if you are ever unsure.
Remember the difference between pain and discomfort and find that line within yourself, and try not to go to the point where it’s painful. If you can’t breathe deeply, back off s bit.
Which reminds me, breathing deeply will always aid in the process while receiving massage.

Take care of yourself!

I will eventually (maybe) start doing videos demonstrating how to properly roll out… just been moving into a space where I feel comfortable behind the camera, and also still working on clearing up space to be able to record videos 🧚

Can you believe it’s Monday (and almost a new month) already?! Todays muscle is the Trapezius, also known as “traps”.

Did you know some muscles only have one function and others have multiple? Different fibers in different areas of the muscle help you do a few different things, like raising your arms above your head (think trapeze performer), shrugging your shoulders + bringing them back down, and (aids in) looking up and tilting your head.

This is one I notice a lot of people having issues with their tissues. And I notice (part of) the neck pain people struggle does stem from the lower trigger points.

It’s 👤 and the topic is going to be on the nervous system again, because our nervous systems are a big part of wellness/illness.

This book opened my mind and heart, and has been a huge aid in finding more regulation & building better vagal tone - for that has been my own ultimate goal/ theme of the year.

I truly believe it will benefit society if everyone learned more about neuroscience.
Through that, we can better understand ourselves and each other.

If/when you check it out, let me know what you think! So far the people that have started it that I’ve shared it with absolutely love it.

Todays muscle is the soleus, one of the deeper calf muscles. When you stretch your feet or stand on your tip-toes, this muscle is one that allows that to happen!
This is one that has tendoncies ;) of sending referral pain away from where the trigger points are - what you think is Achilles tendinitis might be coming from a knot in this guy.

Did you know that the calf muscles help pump blood back up to the heart from the lower body when contracting? Maybe that’s a reason walking can help regulate blood pressure.

Have you ever struggled with pain here?!
