Endometriosis is often a pattern of stagnation + depletion.

Pain happens when blood isn’t flowing well. When circulation is impaired, inflammation builds and the uterus becomes constricted.

This herbal formula targets both:

Bai Zhu + Dang Shen 👉 support energy + hormone regulation
Dang Gui 👉 nourish blood
Chuan Xiong 👉 move blood + reduce pain
Gui Zhi 👉 warm and improve circulation
Longan Berry 👉 used to calm + support sleep

Clinically, this matters. Research shows:

Herbs like Dang Gui + Chuan Xiong can help reduce inflammation and improve blood flow.

They may modulate prostaglandins, a key driver of menstrual pain.

Chinese herbal formulas have been shown to reduce pelvic pain and recurrence.

The key for women is to build and move at the same time.

It’s not just about symptom relief, it’s about restoring flow to the whole system. 🌿

Before there were pills, there were leaves.
Before there were clinics, there were kitchens.
Before diagnosis, there was listening.

In Chinese medicine, tea was never just tea.
It was the first pharmacy.

In the lineage of Chinese medicine, we don’t separate healing from living.

The herbs we prescribe are the same leaves we drink.
The rituals we teach are the ones we practice.

At Wild Qi, our apothecary is alive. Raw herbs, daily decoctions, tea shared in community.

Because sometimes healing doesn’t begin with a treatment.

It begins with a cup of tea.

Join us for the next Tea Ceremonies at Wild Qi:

Thank you for capturing our mission and journey!

It’s been nearly 3 months since we officially opened in January, and the energy on campus becomes more alive with Qi every day.

Wild Qi was born from the gaps I was seeing in my clinical practice: the need for people, teachers, integrative care, and a connection to nature, our innate wildness.

Our purpose is to help people return to their true essence, the energy of a child, Wild Qi. Now, this vision is unfolding in real time, and it wouldn’t be possible without our members, patients, and community.

As Ivan shared in the article, “Wild Qi is one of the love letters we can write to the city that’s given use so much already.”

We are just getting started, and we’re so grateful to be creating Wild Qi together, with you.

In Chinese Medicine, spring marks a transition into the energy of the Liver (肝, Gan), the organ system associated with the Wood element and the Jue Yin stage. This energy governs the smooth flow of Qi. When it moves freely, we feel clear, creative, and purposeful. When it stagnates, we feel it immediately.

This sensitivity is often heightened in women, whose bodies are inherently cyclical and deeply attuned to nature’s rhythms. We see Liver Qi stagnation show up before menstruation, during pregnancy, in the postpartum period, and throughout menopause.

Frustration. Irritability. Tension. A short fuse, sometimes with the people we love most. Sound familiar?

And if you have period pain? You need to know about “The Great Rushing,” Liver 3 (Tàichōng 太衝). This point is located on the Liver meridian used to support the smooth movement of Qi (energy) throughout the body which can help ease discomfort associated with stagnation.

While self-massage is a great tool, professional acupuncture allows for precise point selection and a deeper shift in your internal balance. Whether you are dealing with menstrual cycle discomfort or high stress, our clinical team is here for you.

Chinese medicine wisdom shows us that Spring is not a gentle season. It is a wake-up.

The flowers bloom, yes, but they do so with force. Energy rises, pushes, expands. Here in Ojai, the heat comes early, almost abruptly, amplifying that sense of acceleration. After the stillness of winter, the shift into movement can feel… confronting.

In Chinese Medicine, we are transitioning into the energy of the Liver (肝, Gan), the organ system associated with the Wood element and the Jue Yin stage. This energy governs the smooth flow of Qi. When it moves freely, we feel clear, creative, and purposeful. When it stagnates, we feel it immediately.

Frustration. Irritability. Tension. A short fuse, sometimes with the people we love most. Sound familiar?

This sensitivity is often heightened in women, whose bodies are inherently cyclical and deeply attuned to nature’s rhythms. We see Liver Qi stagnation show up before menstruation, during pregnancy, in the postpartum period, and throughout menopause.

And sometimes… just all the time.

It can feel like a lack of ease, a subtle inability to relax into life. A kind of internal pressure that builds until something releases. And then, in a moment of awareness, you soften. You remember: everything is okay. The Qi moves again.

This is the work of spring. 🪻

And this is the work we are doing in our integrative clinic. Link in bio to book an appointment with one of our Chinese Medicine providers.
