This Memorial Day, the men and women of the Oklahoma National Guard are patrolling our levee system 24 hours a day. They are doing incredible work to keep our neighbors safe!
As the Arkansas River continues to rise throughout the day, the levee system is still operating as designed.
We are asking everyone to plan for the worst case scenario: the flood of record (the worst flood in our history). You can view the map projecting the impact of that flood here: https://okmay19flood.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=28dff3e644bd478386444e3bbc0882ea
If you need sandbags, we have placed free ones at the Mabee Center at ORU for anyone who needs them.
We are also monitoring how the flood of record would impact critical infrastructure. Our water and wastewater treatment plants have been prepared for this event and would remain operational.
We have created a map that will track street closures as this event evolves. You can access it here (you’ll want to turn your phone sideways if that is how you’re viewing it): http://cityoftulsa.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html #/6f5e9cf8c2a74ea79c6dbe0b80573fcd
