Patient Safety Awareness Week isn’t a one-time initiative — it’s a daily commitment across Michigan hospitals. This work often looks like:

🗣️ Building a culture where staff can speak up to prevent errors and share “good catches.”

📝 Learning from safety events through confidential peer reviews and adverse event committees.

🍼 Using evidence-based safety bundles in maternal care and other areas that improve prevention efforts, protocols and readiness.

💊 Improving medication safety and infection prevention through quality improvement collaboratives that track outcomes and reduce harm.

👷 Strengthening workplace safety and well-being through violence prevention programs, risk assessments, trainings and burnout-reduction support.

💻 Making health IT safer by evaluating system resilience and improving governance around new technologies.

Join us in celebrating the teams who are working around the clock to strengthen systems and culture to reduce harm and keep patients and care teams safer. Learn more about efforts underway by visiting our MHA Keystone Center webpage ➡️ https://bit.ly/3FhDDUf
