Here’s how you can find a therapist or provider to begin your mental health journey.

1. Write out what you’re looking for including problem, pay range, and setting.
2. Search therapy directories to find at least 3 providers who match your criteria.
3. Schedule a consultation with each therapist.
4. Now you have what you need to begin your healing process.

Reminder: Black excellence deserves to be recognized every day, not just during one month.

As part of the 11% of Black counselors, I carry the responsibility and the privilege of supporting people who look like me. I get to experience the joy of creating a safe space in a world that has never truly felt safe for Black people and the honor of being a part of the healing process.

Black history is not just about slavery, but resilience, pride, joy, creativity, and of course power.

And when attempts are made to erase Black history, understand this: they are attempting to rewrite world history.
