📊 Important Hep C Statistics

Did you know that more than 2.4 million people in the U.S. are living with Hepatitis C – and most don’t even know it? 😱

Hep C is the leading cause of liver transplants and liver cancer in the U.S.

One-time exposure to infected blood (e.g., shared needles, unregulated tattoos, etc.) can result in lifelong infection if not treated.

1 in 3 people who are HIV positive are also co-infected with Hepatitis C.

People who are incarcerated or have been recently released are 10 to 20 times more likely to have Hepatitis C than the general population.

Cure rates exceed 95% with new antiviral treatments – usually taken once a day for just 8–12 weeks.

The CDC recommends at least one Hep C test in a lifetime for all adults aged 18 and older – regardless of risk factors.
