Whether you’re trick-or-treating, passing out candy, or enjoying a spooky night in, remember — safety first! 🧡

Here are a few quick tips:
🕯️ Carry a flashlight or glow sticks to stay visible.
🚶‍♀️ Walk on sidewalks and cross at corners.
🍬 Check all treats before eating.
🐾 Keep pets inside and away from the door to reduce stress.

Stay safe, have fun, and don’t forget — preparedness isn’t scary when you plan ahead! 💙

Don't get haunted! 👻

Even the strongest people can get haunted by burnout!

If you’ve been running on empty, this is your cue to pause and recharge.
This Halloween, take some time to check some self-care items off your list:

- Rest without guilt
- Connect with teammates
- Take a mental health day if needed
- Ask for help before the stress piles up

Recognize when you’re feeling drained, reach out for support and remember: rest is part of readiness.

🚨 Volunteers Needed: Operational Readiness Exercise (ORE) 🚨

The Operational Readiness Exercise (ORE) is a 3-day, full-scale exercise bringing together partners from across public safety, emergency response, and healthcare — all levels of government and beyond!

📅 November 5–7, 2025
🕖 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (one full-day shift per volunteer)
📍 Edmond Fire Training Center, 5300 E. Covell

OKMRC volunteers are needed to act as patients during rescue and medical operations. 🩹 Moulage (realistic mock injuries) will be used to make this training as immersive and life-like as possible — helping first responders prepare for real-world disasters.

✨ Perks for Volunteers:

8 Community Service Hours (sponsored by Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security & RMRS for Central Oklahoma)

5 Local CE Credits per day for those with EMS certification

Box lunch & plenty of water provided!

We're looking for volunteers to assist with the Out of the Darkness Walk in Norman on Saturday, 1 November. This event raises awareness for su***de prevention and mental health support — and we need your help to keep participants safe and the event running smoothly. 💙
