💜✨A bit of news. All positive, we promise!✨💜

Aspen Women’s Center is closing. Our last day at Aspen Women’s Center is December 5, 2025.

Dr. Michelle Brunnabend and Kendall McCormick APRN are moving to the Mercy OB/GYN clinic located at 13313 N. Meridian Ave., Bldg C, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Phone #: 405-254-1757, Fax #: 405-254-1758
If you are a patient of Dr. Michelle’s or Kendall’s, you can choose to follow them to the Mercy Clinic (we will faciltiate your record transfer) or to find a new provider.

Dr. Ronnie Brunnabend will not be practicing in the greater OKC area. If Dr. Ronnie is your provider, you can choose to follow Dr. Michelle and Kendall to the Mercy Clinic or to find a new provider. They would be happy to continue serving you!

You can request an electronic copy of your records to be sent to you through the portal or to your new provider at no cost to you until December 31, 2025 by completing the records request form and giving it back to us in person, through the portal or by emailing to staff@aspenwomenscenterokc.com . Records request forms are available on our website aspenwomenscenterokc.com

After December 31, 2025, your records will be available through an online medical records storage company that we will be selecting soon and will update with that information when it is available.

👁️ spy ✌🏻 babies 🫶🏻

A little over a week ago this family welcomed 2 little people well into their 37th week.

This couple worked hard to grow these babies perfectly and planned for their first babies to be born at home.
As with all things pregnancy and birth, we don’t control ALL the things. 😮‍💨🥴

We are so very proud of this couple for rolling with unpredictable things of pregnancy, especially ✨t w i n✨ pregnancy. Our bodies tell us what they need if we pay attention.

We found ourselves in need of a medical induction.
Without skipping a beat, her body did what we asked without pitocin. 😮‍💨🩷 Once things began….4cm to holding her babies in less than 2 hours.
100% rockstar status 🔥

Grateful to who received this family for their induction & loved on them in the most kind and gentle way knowing they had other plans.
*First twins born at the new Mercy OKC facility 🤭

💪🏻WHAT A FORCE 💪🏻

Back in March, I had the honor of witnessing this beautiful hospital induction for medical reasons. Toward the end of pregnancy, it became clear that out of hospital birth wasn’t a safe option anymore. I’m so proud of this sweet family for the way they navigated the surrendering of their original desires and moved forward with joy and confidence. It was such an incredible thing to witness!

So many thoughts come to mind when I think about this birth. I think this is one of my all time favorite birth photos.

🩷 You can have a beautiful hospital birth.
🩷 You can have a beautiful induction. Sometimes they really are necessary.
🩷 You can push your baby out however feels best for you.
🩷 Get you a care provider like Dr. Michelle Brunnabend Aspen Women's Center OKC who will get her b***y on the floor, if that’s what it takes. Her willingness to receive transfers and care for them “as close to home” as possible is a huge gift to our city. Collaborative care is crucial. Who you choose as a care provider is crucial.
🩷 Get you a midwife like Spirited Birth & Midwifery Services. She’s one of a kind. Her wisdom, knowledge, and heart for people and birth is absolutely incredible. I’m always so grateful when my out of hospital clients choose Taryn!

Shaking things up a little👏🏻✨

A bunch of really wonderful stuff is happening, but we’ll take it one announcement at a time, shall we? The first is that Dr. Michelle Brunnabend is bringing me in to formulate and teach 2 classes specific to families birthing with her at Mercy. These classes are free to her patients and information will be sent out monthly with corresponding due dates.

🌟Building your Birth Plan🌟

Looking through all of your options while attempting to plan for your birth can be quite overwhelming. Let's break it down in this one hour session, customized specifically for families birthing at Mercy with Dr. Brunnabend. In this session, not only will Kaitlin present you with labor, birth, and postpartum options, she will also talk you through formatting in a straightforward and easy to understand manner. Together, we will build your customized birth plan that you will then be able to take home and create to bring with you to your birth. Kaitlin will also briefly talk through what postpartum will look like during your hospital stay and at home.

🌟Preparing for your Planned Cesarean🌟

Planning a cesarean birth? You deserve education too! In my experience, families feel so much more prepared when they know exactly what to expect going into their cesarean. In this 1-2 hour session, Kaitlin will cover the following:
-The night before your birth
-Process of check in & pre-op
-Unplanned Cesarean--In case you labor before your surgery date
-Anesthesia
-What will you feel during the procedure?
-Your partner's role in your birth
-Process of events from the moment you enter the OR to when you are rolled out
-Immediate Postpartum
-Your first 24 hours in the hospital
-Postpartum at home
