Chance Tuttle was appointed Director of the Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division by Commissioner of Public Safety, Tim Tipton, on October 19, 2025.

Tuttle is a graduate of the 60th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy and began his career serving in the Tulsa Metro. Over the course of his service with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, he spent over a decade as a member of the OHP Tactical Team and holds multiple instructional certifications, including Fi****ms, Health and Wellness, Night Vision, and Breaching. He has served in the Wellness Division for several years and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System and is the executive director for the Bench Foundation.

Throughout his career, Tuttle has been involved in hundreds of tactical operations, experiencing many complex and high-risk situations. His experience has provided him with an understanding of the physical and psychological demands placed on first responders. He remains dedicated in his mission to advance comprehensive wellness initiatives and to promote resilience, recovery, and mental health support for Oklahoma’s first responder community.

It is a honor to help and stand alongside first responders in Hartshorne and the surrounding communities.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Their commitment to protecting our freedoms and our way of life is the foundation of everything we hold dear.

At the Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division, we recognize that many of our state’s first responders are also proud veterans. Your service—both in uniform and in your communities—represents the very best of Oklahoma.

Thank you for your strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to others. Today and every day, we honor you. ❤️🤍💙

Dear Friends and Partners,

I am stepping away from my role as Director of the Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division effective Oct 31st.
Chance Tuttle will become Director of the OKFRWD and I believe the Wellness Division is just getting started!

I want to take a moment to share my heart with all of you.

When this journey began, it wasn’t just about building a program — it was about changing a culture. We set out to create a place where first responders could come as they are, drop the armor for a while, and be reminded that they’re human too. What we’ve built together is something I’ll always be proud of.

I’ve watched incredible men and women — warriors, protectors, and servants — find their way back to hope, health, and purpose. I’ve seen what happens when courage looks like asking for help instead of pretending to be okay. Those moments have changed me more than words can say.

To the team who stood shoulder-to-shoulder through the long days, long nights, and tough conversations: thank you. To every agency and partner who believed in my dream and the mission before it had proof — your faith made all the difference. And to the first responders who allowed me to walk beside you through the storms — you are the reason.

Though I’m leaving this position, my heart isn’t leaving the mission. I will always be an advocate for the men and women who run toward danger while the rest of the world runs away. My hope is that the foundation we’ve built continues to grow, reach farther, and save lives for years to come.

Thank you for the honor of serving beside you. Stay grounded, stay connected, and above all — STAY HUMAN.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Danny Long
Director (Departing)

Su***de numbers across the Country indicate we’re killing ourselves more than the bad guys are.
Let that sink in…
How can we lower the numbers?
I belive we can decrease the numbers with a simple human approach:

-Be Human
Allow yourself to be human, none of us our super hero’s so stop acting like we are.

- Approach
Approach others in the same manner, as a HUMAN!

-Ask
We have the skills to detect when something is off with people. Our partners are no different. You’re NOT going to cause a su***de by asking. Be bold and ask in a private area.

-Plant a Seed
Plant a seed of hope in someone by being human and vulnerable when you ask.

-Reach Out
Reach out to us if you need help or if you know someone We have a plan in place that will protect our people in time of need. We can protect your dignity and your job!
