How are you feeling?

Many patients enter our clinic when asked "How are you feeling?", they reply that they feel great- no complaints.
Yet many times, when being checked, they find that there are areas of soreness and restriction that they did not know they were experiencing. In other words, they felt fine but still showed spinal/joint/muscle imbalance and/or tightness which was "just below" their threshold of pain.
Just because we are not having pain does not always mean we do not have an issue which would benefit from a chiropractic adjustment.

When were you checked last? Maybe this would be a good time for a tune up.

🌸🌷☀️Welcome Spring!☀️🌷🌸

With warmer weather, lots of us will be doing gardening and yardwork. Here are some tips to lessen injuries.

--Warm up your muscles (stretch).
--Hydrate – helps minimize muscle cramps/spasms (and dehydration).
--Take breaks (and you don’t have to do it all today – break it up).
--Wear supportive footwear (forget the flip flops).
--Balance activities like raking, lifting, weeding, etc (“wax on/wax off”).
--Do your stretches and use ice that evening to minimize soreness.

Now get outside and enjoy some sunshine and fresh air!!!

🚶‍♀️Tomorrow Wednesday April 5th is National Walking Day! 🚶‍♂️

One of the big differences between our forefathers and current society is how we move from place to place. Most of our ancestors walked…a lot! I think most of us would improve our overall health if we would start walking on a regular basis. So, I’m hoping National Walking Day will be the beginning of a new habit of a healthy lifestyle.

What is necessary to begin a walking program? Here are some pointers:

--Start slowly (gradually work up to 30 minutes per day)
--Wear supportive shoes and comfortable clothing
--Drink plenty of water
--Move your arms as you walk
--Walk tall (have good posture)
--Consider a walking stick (for balance and protection)
--Find a walking buddy (this helps us be more accountable and makes it more fun)

Walking improves our circulation and ability to breath, strengthens our bones and muscles, improves our balance, and even makes our brains work better. As my mom used to say, “Try it…you might just like it”!!!

We cannot change where we were born, who our parents were, or the things we have experienced in the past.
We can work on and change how we think and act today.
My grandmother, Mildred Newcomb DC, had a wonderful saying. "Bloom where you are planted."

Be the best you can be for yourself and others today!!!

Let us help you be the best version of yourself.

March is National Reading Month!

While reading whether by hard copy book or on an electronic device:
Watch your posture -maintain a straight spine/no slouching

Keep your head straight and avoid tilting your neck forward

Hold the book up a little under eye-level to avoid slouching forward
(it may help to place your book on a pillow/lapboard)

Take a 5 minute break every hour to stand up and stretch

📚Happy Reading!!📚
